Fox Sports Wisconsin:
GREEN BAY, Wis. Packers Pro Bowl outside linebacker Clay Matthews has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
Matthews, who ranks fourth in the NFL with nine sacks, injured his hamstring 10 days ago in Green Bay's win against the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers had a bye this past weekend, but it didn't offer enough time for Matthews to recover.
"I know Clay's not going to be available this week," coach Mike McCarthy said at his Wednesday afternoon press conference.
Matthews, 26, has battled hamstring injuries throughout most of his four-year career, but the injury has kept him out of only one game prior to this.

Apparently "60 Minutes" isn't going to sit back and let Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers take shots at it without a response. After Rodgers told the Detroit media in a conference call on Wednesday that his feature story on "60 Minutes" was "cut for their purposes, their agenda," the CBS news magazine fired back at the NFL's Most Valuable...
Evan Dietrich-Smith hears all the nice things Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy are saying about him and does what he always does.
He gets back to work.
Two years after he was cut by the Packers at the end of training camp and spent most of the season looking for work, Dietrich-Smith has become indispensable in Green Bay. Versatile enough to play any spot...
While the Green Bay Packers have ruled linebacker Clay
Matthews and wide receiver Greg Jennings out for Sunday’s contest against the
Detroit Lions, wide receiver Jordy Nelson “appears a safe bet to play,”
according to ESPN Wisconsin.
Matthews (hamstring), Jennings (abdomen) and safety Charles
Woodson (collarbone) will all miss Sunday’s game, but they all aren’t far...
Blame BustedCoverage for starting some rumors that Aaron Rodgers and his babe are engaged. They’ve got the pictures and video proof that Destiny Newton was wearing a ring while sitting next to her boyfriend Discount Double Check at the Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss Game.
I wouldn’t blame Rodgers.. chick is a smoke.
In a move that I'm sure shocked his male roommate, it appears Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has recently been engaged to random blonde "woman," Destiny Newton. Speculation on this topic has run rampant after Rodgers and Newton were seen watching Aaron's younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, help Vanderbilt pull out a win against Kentucky this last weekend...
What did we learn on Day 2 of the “Is Aaron Rodgers engaged,” saga? That Aaron Rodgers, on his ESPN Wisconsin radio show, wouldn’t confirm or deny that the giant rock on his girlfriend’s finger is an engagement ring.
Host Jason Wilde, who said on Monday he wouldn’t ask Rodgers such intrusive questions, sorta changed his tune today, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel...
We tried to warn Wisconsin media types last week that BC was about to dominate their asses on salacious sports/entertainment news. Then we broke the news that Ryan Braun was engaged to Larisa Fraser. A few outlets blew us off as just being some annoying, disgraceful blog that investigates stupid athlete relationship stories for pageviews.
Then, on Monday, we took two screencaps...
Healthy and on his game, cornerback Tramon Williams will square off against wide receiver Calvin Johnson on Sunday. "Everyone around the league knows Calvin is one of the best in the game," Williams said.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams is apparently not very original. Earlier this week, Williams dubbed himself “Optimus Prime” in anticipation of his upcoming matchup against Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, a.k.a. Megatron. That sounds awfully familiar.
A few weeks ago, Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman changed his Twitter name to Optimus Prime for...
Green Bay Packers (6-3) at Detroit Lions (4-5)
I don’t think it’s possible to talk about the Packers without first talking about how bad their injury situation has gotten. Already missing stud middle linebacker Desmond Bishop and replacement DJ Smith for the season, the Packers have also put starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga and starting rush linebacker Nick Perry on injured...
Though their bye week seemed to come at a good time, the Green Bay Packers are still plenty banged up.
Far from full strength despite a week off, the Packers can win a fifth straight game Sunday as it visits the Detroit Lions, who can't afford many more disappointments if they plan on returning to the playoffs.
Recent history favors Green Bay, which is 11-1 against the Lions...
