Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
You can take the player out of Boston, but it seems that you can't take Boston out of the player. Paul Pierce may be playing basketball for the Nets this season but he still loves Boston, and the Red Sox. Much has been made of Gerald Wallace's love for the Red Sox, but Paul Pierce still loves them too. He posted the above photo on Instagram along with this comment: "Hey fellas great game last night."
Is it too early to think that maybe once Pierce's contract is up in Brooklyn this season, he may want to come back to Boston as a free agent so he can retire as a Celtic? Yeah, I guess it is.

It's no secret that with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett shipped off to Brooklyn, many Celtics rivalries have cooled down for the time being. But in a recent interview with David Aldridge on NBA.com LeBron James made a case that the Miami - Boston rivalry is still very much alive:
Me: Since Pierce, certainly, and KG certainly thought of as Celtics, does that rivalry your team...
Prevention beats cure. So caution was a buzzword at Nets practice Sunday.
Paul Pierce was held out because of a jammed big toe, a condition suffered in the last preseason game at Miami on Friday but not believed serious. Andrei Kirilenko’s back spasms, though, continue to be a concern. Kirilenko did only treadmill work.
“Just jammed it the other day in the game, just taking...
Baxter Holmes... you nailed it.
You can take @paulpierce34 out of Boston, but you can't take Boston out of him: http://t.co/qe1Of38hoD— Baxter Holmes (@BaxterHolmes) October 28, 2013
I thought I was okay with the trade that sent Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to the Nets. I really didn't like it. I thought that Paul Pierce had earned the right to retire as a Celtic, but I know that there's a lot more at work than loyalty in these days of the salary cap and CBA. So, I accepted that Danny is trying to avoid another stretch of 22 years of...
If the Nets had been told a month ago they would have made it through the preseason without any serious injuries, they gladly would have signed up for that.
The team’s overall good health, more than anything else, is the big takeaway from the exhibition season, which ended with a 108-87 victory over the defending champions in Miami on Friday night.
“We’ve had our spurts,”...
LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat have had a strong rivalry with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and the Celtics in the past. But with KG and The Truth moving to Brooklyn does the rivalry with Boston end and be transferred to Brooklyn? Dwayne Wade said earlier in October that the rivalry will just ...The post No Place Like Boston appeared first on The League News.
Welcome back from the other side.
First of all, I appreciate all the concern about my well being and the status of, “The Countdown.” Specifically from my friend and former intern, Vince, who wrote me to ask why I had stopped writing Star Wars, and then left this link.
Well played, “Vince...
When the Boston Celtics parted ways with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in the offseason's biggest trade, it marked the end of an era and the beginning of a massive rebuilding job.
In the midst of a franchise-worst playoff drought, the Toronto Raptors have been trying to rebuild for some time.
With Doc Rivers now in the Western Conference and Rajon Rondo recovering from knee...
KC Jones, retired Celtic #25
The Celtics find themselves at #25 in the opening week edition of Marc Stein's ESPN NBA power rankings. Milwaukee, Utah, Orlando, Phoenix, and Philly (#26-30) are the only teams below Boston, with the lowly Charlotte Bobcats (#24) one spot ahead of the C's.
To no surprise the defending champion Heat are #1, however Doc Rivers and the LA Clippers...
8 a.m. ET: Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will not be wearing green uniforms, and Doc Rivers will not be calling the shots from the sideline. Lots of things will look very different for the Celtics this season.
That doesn’t mean Jeff Green and the remaining Celtics aren’t still pumped to get the season started.
“Every year is more and more exciting,” Green said. “The older...
