Found April 29, 2012 on Phins Phocus:
When I was just a young lad, my parents taught me a very important lesson, which is “patience is a virtue”. That saying is something that Dolphins fans should get very familiar with.  While I believe this year’s draft was a successful, it must be reflected on in two different ways. In terms of immediate benefit to the 2012 NFL season I wouldn’t bank on much. The Dolphins are hoping that Tannehill will mature and grow into their franchise QB that but that could take time and mean spending this upcoming season with a clipboard in hand. The Dolphins 2nd round draft pick was a 1st round talent in offensive tackle from Standford John Martin. Martin hopefully will provide stability to the offensive line and offer a contingency plan should any complications arise with the Jake Long contract negotiations. The Dolphins however failed to find playmakers at the Wide receiver early on in the draft leaving the possibility of an anemic offense in 2012/2013. The TE Egnew is a raw player who...

Miami Dolphins 2012 Draft Grades

1) Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M: The Miami fans finally have their quarterback of the future, or so we hope. The move is thought of as a reach by most draft experts, but drafting a QB you believe can be your future cannot be a reach in my mind. This draft and probably Jeff Ireland's future will be defined by this pick. 2) Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford: Most fans were likely...

Dolphins upbeat about draft selections

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the eighth pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, met the local media Saturday morning. It was a glorious, upbeat gathering. Miami general manager Jeff Ireland was glowing like a proud papa. "There is no ambiguity in what we chose here," he said. Some say the upper first round was too high to select Tannehill, the Texas A&M product...

Dolphins, Browns had little choice but to gamble on new quarterback projects

For only the fifth time in NFL history, quarterbacks were selected with the first two picks of last night's draft. And as a result of the hype surrounding Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, the draft's next-best quarterbacks, Ryan Tannehill from Texas A&M and Brandon Weeden from Oklahoma State, saw their respective stocks rise artificially. So sure, the Miami Dolphins...

The Top six most suspect first round picks

Day one of the 2012 NFL Draft was as trendy as the come. A flurry of trades led to some ingenious picks and some not so smart ones. Here are six of the most questionable picks in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.   #8 Ryan Tannehill Texas A&M/QB/Miami Dolphins Ryan Tannehill is a wonderfully physical specimen. The Ft. 2012 NFL Draft Breakdown-Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins entered the 2012 NFL Draft surrounded in controversy and after the dust has settled, you wonder if the fan base is actually buying into what the ownership is trying to sell. After failed attempts to land high profile characters such as head coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jeff Fisher along with QB Peyton Manning, the public relations department for the Dolphins has been...
