Who says the players get to have all the fun in sports? Mississippi State decided to upgrade its basketball conference room, which presumably is used mainly by the Bulldogs staff (probably a bit small for the whole basketball team and staff in there, although they could make it work) for meetings. It reminds me of the neon signs that fill every bar in America — maybe this is the secret location of Mississippi State happy hour — can’t say that wouldn’t be a great addition.

Mississippi State baseball has taken huge strides under the direction of Coach John Cohen. Cohen, charged with the Diamond Dog baseball rebuild, went to work early on to improve the talent on the hill with a heavy emphasis on pitchers in the first recruiting classes. One of the first pieces of that puzzle was Tupelo blue chipper Chris Stratton who flourished in the Maroon and White.
Mississippi State went on the recruiting trail looking for a pair of quarterbacks for the 2014 signing class and it appears that the Bulldogs have struck gold twice in the state of Georgia. Richmond Hill, Georgia standout Nick Fitzgerald announced today that he will be attending Mississippi State next fall.
