Mississippi State’s first go-around wearing its maroon “Snow Bowl” helmets didn’t go exactly as planned, as the Bulldogs fell to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 21-3, in Houston to open the season. For tonight’s primetime matchup, they’ll give it another shot – this time against SEC bottom-feeder Kentucky. MSU staffer Bob Carskadon posted a photo of the lid on Instagram: On the other side, Kentucky will be debuting new 3-D thigh pads with the Wildcats logo. Both teams are still looking for their first SEC win this season.

Inside The Kentucky/Mississippi State Bit Of A Rivalry Game

Yesterday during his talking, but NOT discussing injuries, with the media portion of his day, Dan Mullen said that he and his players treat Kentucky, who is Mississippi State's permanent East opponent, as "a little bit" of a rivalry game.  While that's probably a stretch because KENTUCKY FOOTBALL, I hope both teams treat it as such tonight, as it is a terrible...

While calling the Kentucky Wildcats-Mississippi State Bulldogs game on Thursday night, Rece Davis made a joke about Mark May losing weight.  In an attempt to follow up the joke, David Pollack called Mark May “tan,” making for an extremely awkward few seconds during ESPN’s broadcast.  Probably not the best use of judgement on Pollack’s part.
