Assuming the NHL returns to a rink near you this winter — an assumption that gets larger and larger every day — one thing will be certain. The Montreal Canadiens will be booed and heckled when they come to Boston to take on the Bruins. More specifically, Montreal defenseman P.K. Subban will hear it from the Garden crowd. Subban is one of the most polarizing players in the league. On one hand, he has undeniable talent as a truly dynamic blueliner. But on the other hand, the hand B’s fans use to cup their mouth when booing him, Subban has a reputation as a diver, looking to embellish at seemingly every chance he can get. Bruins fans hate the Habs, and in many eyes, Subban personifies the reasons for that hate. That’s why it was surprising for some when the Bruins made their first-round pick this past June at the NHL entry draft. The B’s took goaltender Malcolm Subban -- the younger brother of P.K. While Malcolm is probably still a few years away from making an impact between the pipes for the Bruins, the idea of the Subbans squaring off with each other in one of sports’ greatest rivalries was understandably appetizing. P.K. also thinks that Bruins fans should be in the position to back off his case now that their team has drafted a member of the Subban clan. The Montreal defenseman made an appearance on the popular hockey podcast, Marek vs. Wyshynski, on Friday afternoon, and he tried to deflect the hate. This is what one of the show’s hosts, Yahoo’s Greg Wyshynski, tweeted after the interview with P.K. Subban. PK Subban on his relationship w/ Bruins fans, post drafting his bro: "They have to get over it now. They got my blood on their side." #MvsW— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) December 14, 2012
