AAA: INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS  Box Score Result: Indianapolis 4, Toledo 2 Starting Pitcher: Gerrit Cole, RHP (1-1, 3.65) – 6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Tony Sanchez, C (.276) – 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI Other Notable Performers: Josh Harrison, 2B (.625) – 2-for-3, BB Jordy Mercer, SS (.295) – 2-for-4 Game Notes: Gerrit Cole had a much better start than he did in his first two outings. He gave up just one run in 6.1 innings, after combining for six innings total in the first two starts. The downside was that Cole walked four batters in those 6.1 innings. Control was a problem for him at the end of his time with Altoona, and he threw a lot of pitches in a small amount of innings in his first two outings. This was a much better start, but there’s still things for him to work on. Tony Sanchez hit his first home run of the season. He is now 7-for-14 in his last four games, with two doubles and a homer. John Fredland wrote about Sanchez getting work on his hitting, and what led to his big three hit game the other night.   AA: ALTOONA CURVE  Altoona was suspended 1-1 in extra innings. The game will be completed tomorrow. Casey Sadler made a good start, throwing seven innings with one run on five hits and two walks, striking out five. Mel Rojas is currently 2-for-4 with a walk.   A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS Box Score Result: Bradenton 3, Jupiter 1 Starting Pitcher: Robby Rowland, RHP (1-0, 2.57) – 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 0 HR Top Hitter: Willy Garcia, RF (.279) – 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI Other Notable Performers: Quinton Miller, RHP (4.15) – 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 HR Game Notes: Earlier today Robby Rowland had the following pre-game tweet: Today’s marks the first time in my career to have “Five Guys” on my start day. We’ll see how this one turns out. — Robby Rowland (@RobbyRow_12) April 16, 2013 After his six shutout innings with two hits and six strikeouts? So I think I’m gonna be going with #FiveGuys this year for pre-game meals. — Robby Rowland (@RobbyRow_12) April 17, 2013 Bradenton won their second game of the season, thanks to Rowland, but also due to two RBIs from Willy Garcia. Alen Hanson was out of the lineup for the second day in a row, following a three error game.   A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER Box Score Result:  West Virginia 8, Greenville 3 Starting Pitcher: Orlando Castro, LHP (1.17) – 5.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 0 HR Top Hitter:  Stetson Allie, 1B (.411) – 4-for-5, HR, 2 RBI Other Notable Performers Wyatt Mathisen, C (.220) – 3-for-5, 2B, 3 RBI Eric Wood, 3B (.318) – 2-for-5, 2B Junior Sosa, CF (.286) – 3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI Game Notes: Stetson Allie hit his sixth homer of the year, coming in the ninth inning with one runner on base. West Virginia was already leading 6-3 at the time. Allie extended his hitting streak to ten games. Raul Fortunato went 0-for-5, snapping a nine game hitting streak.
