Found September 04, 2013 on Hall of Very Good:
Even though he was charged with the blown save against the Boston Red Sox Thursday night, Mariano Rivera is still looking at one heck of an honor during the New York Yankees final home stand of the season. From September 20-26, Foley's NY Pub and Restaurant will be renamed "Mariano's" in honor of the soon-to-be-retired closer. Yup, the Bill Veeck of booze vendors, Shaun Clancy, is at it again. "As a Yankee fan and someone who loves baseball, I wanted to do something to thank Mariano Rivera for the joy he has brought to this city and to the game overall," pub owner Clancy said.  "I felt compelled to do something to try to give back to him for all he has meant to baseball." And if this all sounds a little too familar...it's because it is.  Last season at this time, Foley's changed its name to "Chipper's" to celebrate the career of then-retiring Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones.

A broken-bat hit by the Boston Red Sox, a broken opportunity for Mariano Rivera and the New York Yankees. Girardi Deserves Big Share Of Blame For Yankees Loss To Red Sox

I am well aware that fingers can be pointed at a number of people when it comes to what caused last night's horrible Yankee loss to the Red Sox:  Ivan Nova, Mariano Rivera and Alfonso Soriano come to mind, of course.  So does Joba Chamberlain. However, many fingers, in my opinion, should also be pointed at the manager, Joe Girardi. If you are a regular reader of this blog...
