As the Boston Celtics take on the Sacramento Kings tonight in Sacramento, they may be without point guard Rajon Rondo.  Rondo sat out Saturday night's game with a bruised right hip.  He suffered the injury Thursday. According to Ben Wantanabe of NESN, Rondo is questionable for tonight's game and is listed as a game-time decision.  The Celtics are hoping to get back to .500 and would love to have Rondo back on the court, but the team is waiting to see what the trainers tell them, says Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston. "I have no idea (if Rondo will play), I really don't," Celtics coach Doc Rivers told reporters in Oakland after Saturday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. "I didn't ask. I'll ask later tonight or tomorrow. But usually I kind of let (trainer) Eddie (Lacerte) tell me. I stay out of that whole thing."The Celtics dropped to 14-15 on the season after their loss to the surprising Golden State Warriors on Saturday.  However, they can climb right back to .500 with a win tonight against the Kings.  The Kings have struggled this year, but so have the Celtics.  Boston has battled injuries, suspensions, and just poor play. They will need Rondo healthy going forward if they are to compete in the Eastern Conference.  Rondo makes that team go.  He is averaging 13.6 points per game and 11.7 assists per game this season.  It has been, perhaps, Rondo's best season ever.  In his career, he has averaged 11.0 points per game and 8.3 assists per game.    Follow @hoopsinjurynews

Celtics-Kings Live: Rajon Rondo Is Questionable for Sunday Night’s Game

8 a.m. ET: A horrendous road trip can end on an up note if the Celtics pull off the very achievable goal of beating the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. Well, normally that goal would be achievable. Even in their current state, the Celtics (14-15) would figure to have an easy time dismissing the Kings (10-19). Nothing is certain with the Celtics at the moment, though. Celtics fans...

Enemy Chatter: A Kings blogger thinks the Celtics have a good defense

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Sacramento. Isaiah Thomas torched Boston’s vaunted defense through repeated drives to the basket and shots from outside. Thomas scored a season-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting and added 5 assists and 4 rebounds. His counterpart, Rajon...

All-NBA “Ugliest Jump Shot” Team

Some players’ jump shots in the NBA are so ugly, they bring two things to mind. One: how does their shot ever go in? Two: how have they not learned to shoot?  Of the players on the Ugliest Jump Shot Team, only one is a decent shooter, despite the fact that he uses more elbow on his jumper then Metta World Peace does on James Harden. PG: Rajon Rondo via bleacherreport.com Rondo’s...

Celtics-Kings Preview

After an uninspiring showing without Rajon Rondo, the Boston Celtics hope to have their point guard back for the finale of a four-game trip. Rondo is expected to be a game-time decision Sunday night when the Celtics face a Sacramento Kings team that may have Tyreke Evans back in the starting lineup for the first time in two weeks. Rondo was a late scratch for Saturday's game...

Celtics lose to Warriors 101-83; fall below .500

The Celtics (14-15) failed to get the win against the Warriors (21-10) without Rajon Rondo, and looked pretty bad in the process. Rondo sat out with a hip and thigh injury and the Celtics needed everyone else to pick up the slack, which they didn't. Paul Pierce, Jason Terry and Jeff Green shot 12-50 and the team as a whole shot 36 percent. While Golden State couldn't miss...

Celtics-Warriors Live: Rajon Rondo, C’s Take on Resurgent Golden State, Led by Stephen Curry

8 a.m. ET: The Golden State Warriors have not exactly had a marquee rivalry with the Celtics in recent years, and the matchup could be just as lopsided this time — only the lopsidedness could go in a different direction. The Warriors (19-10), led by a potential future All-Star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, host the Celtics (14-14), who come to Oakland searching...

Your Morning Dump… Where there is a concerning divide in the locker room

AP Photo: Steve Yeater One thing that is apparent after the last three games: The Celtics don’t yet trust each other. That’s not to say that Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo don’t trust each other; they do. They don’t trust some of the newcomers, and Garnett made that clear after Sunday’s 118-96 loss in Sacramento. The Celtics are not on the same page. Some...

My first Boston Celtics' Game Gone Wrong

Celticslife writers looking good Disappointing, disgrace, upsetting. That is exactly how I felt going to my first Boston Celtics' game last night. I was really excited to go, and when I first bought the ticket in October, I thought it would be a guaranteed win, but I was totally wrong. I first met Paul Pierce in 2002, giving away signed autographs of his game "NBA Inside...

Warriors 101, Celtics 83

By Dave Del Grande, Sports Xchange OAKLAND, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors took advantage of Rajon Rondo's absence and uncharacteristically poor performances by Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to run away from the Boston Celtics early en route to a 101-83 victory Saturday night at Oracle Arena. In completing a Philadelphia-Boston sweep on back-to-back nights on the home...
