Manager Ron Washington has said that he wants to ease Frank Francisco back into the bullpen mix since he's coming off a DL stint. So for the second time, Francisco was pitching in a late-inning situation, but not as the closer. Francisco pitched a scoreless eighth (leaving one runner stranded after a leadoff double in a bit of a stressful inning) and C.J. Wilson got a 1-2-3 ninth to get the save and end the Rangers' five-game losing streak. The combination of Francisco and Wilson late is one that should give Rangers fans some confidence. As unshaky as the middle relief can be on this team, having Darren O'Day, Frank Francisco and CJ Wilson at the end of the games with Jason Jennings if needed is a pretty good deal. But now that Francisco's pitched twice since his return, the question is: Should he return as the closer? Wilson is pitching well and has handled that spot before.
