Last night, after finding out some details of Jack White being served a restraining order by his ex-wife, Karen Elson, we theorized that White has a really, really strong disdain for Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach. (If you haven’t yet, read it – there are some juicy rumors.) Those suspicions were confirmed today when TMZ acquired copies of White’s emails to Elson, which references Auerbach in a less-than-kind light. More specifically, White calls Auerbach an “asshole” and a “rip-off.” The Keys have long been compared to White and the White Stripes (the rock duo rose to fame years before the Keys did) so that could explain why White might harbor some hostile feelings toward Auerbach. Does it justify White wanting to pull his kid out of a private school just because Auerbach’s daughter is in one of his classes? Probably not, but the feud has clearly been getting nastier as time goes on.
