Jim Monaghan Contributing writer Felix Droubront held the Yankees in check for 6.1 innings, and Jacoby Ellsbury and Jonny Gomes went deep as the first-place Red Sox beat the Yankees 4-2 at steamy Fenway Park on Friday evening. Doubront (pictured) didn't allow a hit until Lyle Overbay doubled to lead off the fifth inning. He gave up both New York runs (only one earned) on three hits, while walking three and striking out five. His record improved to 7-3. The Red Sox got on the board quickly in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by Ellsbury, his fourth of the season. Gomes pushed the lead to 3-0 with a two-run blast into the Monster seats an inning later. Junichi Tazawa and Craig Breslow held the Yankees in check for 1.2 innings before giving way to Koji Uehara in the ninth who pitched a 1-2-3 inning for his ninth save of the season. Ellsbury, David Ortiz (two doubles) and Gomes each had two hits for Boston. Click here to find more by Jim Monaghan on Re...
