After almost a month after originally agreeing to a three year deal, the Boston Red Sox and Mike Napoli have agreed to a restructured one year, $5 million deal, according to WEEI.  Napoli and the Red Sox initially agreed to a three year, $39 million deal in early December, but, after a physical, the Red Sox noticed some red flags on Napoli's nagging hip. After more than a month, the team and Napoli agreed to a $5 million deal with bonuses for performance. If Napoli reaches all of his bonuses, the contract could be worth as much as $13 million. Naapoli is expected to play first base for the Sox with Jarrod Saltalamacchia and David Ross behind the plate. Napoli hit .227 in 417 plate appearances with the Texas Rangers last season, but has had much success playing at Fenway Park. Napoli has a career average of .306 at Fenway Park with a slugging percentage of .710 and a OPS of 1.107.
