NFL Injury Report:
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed exited Monday’s
practice session with a bruised foot. Reed will undergo further testing for his
foot ailment, as head coach Mike Shanahan told CSN Washington that the team isn’t
sure how serious the injury is at this point.
“I can’t tell you how serious it is at this point,” Shanahan
said. “We’ll get it checked out, get an MRI on it and make sure he’s okay.”
Here is Dr. Ray Solano’s take on Reed’s injury:
"Jordan Reed was pulled from practice on Monday with
a bruised foot. This is a vague injury report from the Redskins, but one that
should be taken seriously until further examination. Specifically an MRI. The
rookie TE is scheduled for an MRI for what I believe is to rule out a foot fracture.
Specifically a Lisfranc foot fracture-dislocation.
Lisfranc injuries occur at the mid-foot, where a
cluster of small bones form an arch on top of the foot between the ankle and
the toes. A twisting fall can break or shift (dislocate) these bones out of
place. Therefore producing bruising and pain.
Hopefully for Reed and the Redskins, this is not the case.
We'll better understand Reed's injury in the days to come and I'll be sure to
keep you updated with the short and long term effects."

Robert Griffin III and Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan have conflicting timetables on Griffin’s return.
Griffin underwent knee surgery seven months ago following an injury in the 2012 post-season. Since, Griffin has not participated in anything more than 7-on-7 drills.
Now ten days into training camp Griffin insists he is ready to move on to full team activities.
Green Bay Packers CEO Mark Murphy was on WSSP-AM on Tuesday and he talked about the Redskins name. “The owner, Dan Snyder, has come out very strong that he will never change the name. But I am sensitive. It’s a name that’s very derogatory to a lot of people,” said Murphy, via OCNNReport. Murphy continued. “When I was the athletic director at Colgate, their nickname...
There seems to be a major difference in opinion coming out of the Redskins camp. Robert Griffin II wants to play some football and he wants to get back on the field. Meanwhile head coach Mike Shanahan doesn’t think RGIII is ready to begin full football duties yet. Who knows best RGIII or Mike Shanahan? That is a difficult question to answer. Shanahan is going to be extremely cautious...
Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall (ankle) and safety Brandon Meriweather (knee) returned to practice today, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
Hall suffered a high ankle sprain last week and was expected to be out a while. It will be interesting to see if he plays in this week’s preseason game against the Titans.

Even though Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall returned to practice on Monday after spraining his ankle last week, he will not play in this week’s preseason game against the Titans, per Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
This isn’t a surprise at all. Hall is still not 100 percent healthy and he needs to make sure he’s ready for the regular season.

Apparently it was raining in Richmond today, which is one explanation for why Redskins owner Dan Snyder looked like this:
The oversized shirt and shorts combo is something to behold, but ill-fitting clothes are not new for Mr. Snyder. Scroll down to see what I mean …
Here he is, with RGIII two weeks ago, wearing an overlong Skins polo:
Back in March, it was an oversized buttonup...
Last year the Redskins surprised everyone by winning the NFC East. This year there are no surprises coming out of the nation's capital. This team expects to win it all -- and they are better than last year.
There was little doubt in my mind about that after visiting Redskins camp. The team practices fast and players at every position have real playing experience from last season...
Redskins Training Camp Videos Tuesday’s practice sessions were changed a bit due to the weather as the morning’s practice was moved indoors, but the afternoon session went on without a hitch. The Redskins didn’t go through 7 on 7′s so there was really no RG3 highlights or things worth mentioning…to read a breakdown of this [...]
Recently, I had a chance to exchange a few questions with 7th round pick LB Markus White out of FSU. Now in a time-frame when most may think a 7th round pick in the aftermath of drafting 12 players would equal out to a trip to the practice squad or maybe even cut from the team, you may want to rethink your [...]
Robert Griffin III says he's ''ready to move on'' and take a bigger role in practice as he works his way back from knee surgery.
The Washington Redskins quarterback said Monday he's had no soreness or swelling in his right knee during the first week-and-a-half of training camp.
Coach Mike Shanahan has limited Griffin to 7-on-7 drills during camp, keeping...
This seems to come up every off season. This off season it seems to have come up a little more because of the leagues resistance to come down on Riley Cooper, with the leading thought being if they weigh in on that then they might have to do something about the Redskins.
Yesterday CEO Mark Murphy spoke to WSSP-AM on Tuesday and the idea of changing the Redskins name was discussed...
Afternoon Practice Report After storms moved into Richmond on Tuesday the Redskins were forced to practice inside for the morning walk-through. Afternoon practice went as scheduled after the soggy weather dried up. Below is a look at this afternoon’s practice in a collection of tweets from Redskins beat writers. Redskins WR’s tip-toeing in the end [...]
Tweet Long-time NFL fans probably remember the name Gary Clark. He spent eight of his eleven seasons with the Washington Redskins. While with them Clark won two Super Bowls and was a four-time Pro Bowl selection. He ranks third in franchise history in receptions (549), third in receiving yards (8,742), and tied for fourth […]
There was some discussion in the spring about the Redskins changing their name to the Redtails, which is either meant to honor the Tuskegee Airmen or inflict yet another stupid bird team on the NFL. Not that it really matters, as Dan Snyder has vowed that the name will get changed over his tiny, Lloyd’s of London-insured body. Nevertheless, we can still salute the killing prowess...

This off-season, the idea of changing the Washington Redskins name became a hot topic. Some people, include myself, believe the Redskins name is offensive to Native Americans. Hoping to show that Native Americans are not offended by the term, the Redskins...
