Found November 05, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Carmelo Anthony is taking the Knicks' sluggish start to the season in stride. Owner James Dolan, unsurprisingly, is not. Dolan has been known to flip his lid about all kinds of things in the past, but there's a new target for his vitriol now that the Knicks have started the year 1-2, according to the New York Daily News. "Dolan has become such a hands-on owner -- figuratively speaking -- that, according to a source, he doesn't want the dancers dancing," the Daily News' Frank Isola reported. Dolan has been involved with the Knicks City Dancers before, asking to have a say in what the dancers wear, according to Isola. Now, he's "apparently ordered that the girls' roles be reduced to mostly throwing T-shirts into the crowd. They performed maybe one routine on Sunday." Isola notes that Dolan's impatience is over the team's first "losing record" -- albeit three games -- since March 24, 2012, and that after not only getting to the playoffs but also winning a series last year, "he doesn't want to go back." How nixing dancing at Madison Square Garden will solve that, no one knows, but it is happening. The Knicks lost at home to the Timberwolves on Sunday and host the Bobcats on Tuesday night -- for anyone interested in just watching basketball, that is.

James Dolan flips out on 1-2 Knicks, even cracks down on the dancers

We know of at least one person taking James Dolan seriously when the boss says he expects the Knicks to win the NBA championship this year. That person? Well of course, James Dolan. The media-shy chairman of Madison Square Garden was conspicuously missing from his baseline seat during most of the second quarter of Sunday’s lethargic loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. And for...

The Pick & Troll: Iggy’s Behind the Back and Dolan is Cray

Last season, your boy kind of slacked with the NBA updates. Yeah, yeah, you can judge me later. This year is a new year though. I’ve decided to roll out a segment that I like to call The Pick and Troll. Pretty much, I “pick” the things that I think have been cool about recent NBA happenings and I “troll” the things that I feel like are deserving of hate. We all know how...

Carmelo Anthony says he been too passive during fourth quarters

Carmelo Anthony has never been shy about getting shots up throughout his career. He’s a great scorer who isn’t going to change at this point in his career. After last night’s game though, he said maybe he is being a too passive in the 4th quarter of games this season: “For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself as well,” Anthony said Monday after the Knicks’ practice...

Carmelo Anthony struggles from the field in loss

Carmelo Anthony has not been the cold-blooded scoring assassin he was to start out last season. Through three games, Anthony is averaging 21.0 points on just 37.7 percent shooting. After missing the game-winner in Chicago Thursday, Anthony started Sunday versus Minnesota 1-of-7 before heating up briefly to help a Knicks comeback that fell short. He finished with 22 points but shot...

Bobcats-Knicks Preview

Carmelo Anthony attributes the New York Knicks' early deficits during their slump to being unsure of themselves on the offensive end of the floor, causing miscommunication that is leading to errors. They'll look to get on the same page and end a two-game slide Tuesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats, who are looking to avoid an 18th consecutive road loss. The Knicks...

Hall of Famer and television basketball analyst Charles Barkley says the New York Knicks are in deep trouble with Amar’e Stoudemire. Barkley made his comments on ESPN New York 98.7, a day after the Knicks lost to the Charlotte Bobcats, and on the same day the team learned that Tyson Chandler will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the right fibula. “You...

Kroenke Wants Nuggets To Remain Patient To Evaluate Current Roster

The Denver Nuggets have undergone a lot of upheaval over the past few months, losing Masai Ujiri to the Toronto Raptors while firing George Karl. That followed the Nuggets' decision to trade Carmelo Anthony in 2011. "The hard part of pro sports is staying patient," Josh Kroenke said in a rare sit-down interview. "We need to stay patient enough to evaluate what...

Still early, but Knicks are a mess

It is the fourth game of the season, four out of 82, and logic insists — logic demands — that it is too early to pass judgment on the Knicks, too early to attach too much meaning to a three-game losing streak, too early to do much of anything. Four out of 82. This is still the overture. Only it doesn’t feel that way, does it? “We’re not getting it done right now,” Carmelo...
