We still don’t know the fate of Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez for his alleged connections with the Biogenesis scandal, but there’s news on others allegedly involved. FOXSports.com reports that 12 players have accepted 50-game suspensions from Major League Baseball. The suspensions have not been formally announced, but it was expected that they would come down at some point Monday. According to the report, Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz and Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta were among those who have agreed to the 50-game ban. Those are the biggest names on the report, two veteran players who will be free agents at the end of the season. There’s still no new news on Rodriguez, who is still fighting his potential suspension, according to reports. This is the full list of players who accepted the 50-game suspension, according to FOX Sports. Nelson Cruz (Rangers) Jhonny Peralta (Tigers) Antonio Bastardo (Phillies) Jordany Valdespin (Mets) Everth Cabrera (Padres) Francisco Cervelli (Yankees) Jesus Montero (Mariners) Cesar PUello (Mets) Sergio Escalona (Astros) Fautino De Los Santos (Padres) Fernando Martinez (Yankees) Jordan Norberto (free agent) Filed under: Headlines, MLB
