One of Penn State’s sanctions after the Sandusky scandal was the forfeiture of the school’s portion of league-shared bowl revenue.
The money was to be distributed evenly across the other 11 members of the conference – including Ohio State. But the Buckeyes have decided to donate their sum – $181,000, to be exact – to two different child-advocacy groups, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
Ohio State will donate $150,000 to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Family Safety and Healing, and the rest to the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin County. It’s a move that’s sure to be applauded.
