It says a lot about Rex Ryan’s job security that it has to be reported (see leaked from Rex Ryan’s people) that he will have final say on the Jets’ starting QB. It’s been less than a month since GM John Idzik publicly said that he “would play a pretty big role” in the decision so it’s a pretty big turn of events that Rex will get the call now:
I’m sure John will have his say,” a team source told The News. “But at the end of the day, Rex will consult his coaches and make the decision.”
Listen, we all know that barring a minor miracle Rex is a lame duck coach. If they let him make the decision and that QB fails, the new GM can say he tried to let his coach have authority and give him a final shot before giving him the pink slip. I still don’t think Rex makes it past the bye week.

It's been a tough offseason for Rex Ryan.
The New York Jets coach has tangled with the local press , maybe possibly had a rift with team brass , had people call for his job , had Randy Moss call him " embarrassing " and got chased by bulls in Spain (though that appears to be voluntary).
Most recently, Ryan made a controversial decision during Saturday's preseason...
Rex Ryan’s plan to start Geno Smith at the quarterback position didn’t go exactly the way he thought it would. Smith still needs time in the NFL to figure out where not to put the football. Smith threw 3 interceptions and he could have done worse. Smith completed 16 of the 30 passes he threw and it shows that Ryan and his offensive coordinators over exposed the young quarterback...
New Jersey governor Chris Christie is no stranger to voicing his opinion, even when it's not necessarily a popular one. He's also no stranger to being goaded by the media.
But on Monday, those worlds collided during Christie's guest-hosting spot on WFAN's Boomer and Carton show in New York -- and the results weren't pretty.
In short, Christie took New York Daily...
The only thing dumber than Rex Ryan playing Mark Sanchez this past weekend was the post-game presser that followed. Today, sitting in for Esiason on Boomer & Carton, New Jersey governor Chris Christie weighed in on NY Daily News 'ghost writer' Manish Mehta.

This letter was written to Rex Ryan from Valentina, a stripper from Rick’s Cabaret and the ‘dancer’ makes some valid points about the Jets QB situation. See the letter below and H/T to FoxSports for the scoop:

As fans still debate whether Rex Ryan's move to put Sanchez in the Giants game in the fourth quarter, his injury and its severity, are starting to come to light.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Sanchez sustained a bruised right shoulder joint in Saturday's game.
While the injury does not appear season-ending or even a 'half season off' deal...
Fairly soon, it’s going to be quicker to list the people who haven’t weighed in on Sanchezgate than those who have.
