Rob Gronkowski isn’t back on the football field just yet, but he is making progress in his recovery from offseason back surgery. Gronkowski underwent surgery to repair a disc in his back on June 18 and was projected to have a 12-week recovery period. He’s finally back in the training room at Gillette Stadium and preparing to get back out on the football field, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder. Gronk has started his rehab from back surgery and is working with Patriots trainers on stretching and strengthening his core, according to the report. After a few weeks off the grid, Gronk reemerged onto the scene over the Fourth of July weekend, showing up at a party in his hometown of Buffalo. The 6-foot-6 behemoth usually weighs in around 265 pounds, but he looked much thinner in the party photo, which isn’t unusual after an intense surgical procedure.
