The Colorado Rockies have signed pitcher Chris Volstad to a minor-league deal that will enable him to earn $1.5 million if he makes the team, the Denver Post reported. The right-handed Volstad, 26, is a former first-round draft pick who had been acquired by the Royals this winter but was later released. He went 5-13 with a 4.89 ERA with the Miami Marlins in 2011 and was 3-12 with a 6.31 ERA for the Chicago Cubs last season.
