NBA Injury News:
Houston Rockets guard Jeremy Lin was knocked out of last night’s Game 2 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder after suffering a bruised chest muscle, according to Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.Lin attempted to keep playing through the pain after he noticed the discomfort following the half-time break. However, he wasn’t able to remain in the game, as the pain was too much to bear when he began moving around.“This is easily the most frustrating thing that’s happened this entire season,” Lin said. “I’ve been healthy all season. The second half of a playoff game, on the road, we’re playing well, Game 2, it’s just … yeah, it speaks for itself. It was fine as I was sitting here at halftime. I tried to run out of the tunnel and couldn’t really run. When I did, it would go crazy. We’re supposed to just see what happens tomorrow, how it feels tomorrow. As long as stuff stops spasming, I’m good. I don’t know how any of this stuff works.”X-rays taken on Lin’s chest were negative, and he’s hopeful that he’ll be able to suit up for Game 3. He received treatment throughout the second half of last night’s contest, but he was never able to return to the bench. This will certainly be something to keep an eye on through the week. The Rockets and Thunder will play Game 3 on Saturday, so thanks to the NBA Playoffs’ schedule Lin will have a few days to rest his injured chest.Follow @hoopsinjurynews
