While they were expected to sell off some of their veteran players, the Minnesota Twins have been fairly quiet this summer. Slugger Josh Willingham was on the disabled list through the trade deadline, but he's now returned after recovering from his knee ailment. If he can prove healthy, Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe believes Willingham is a candidate to be traded by the end...
MINNEAPOLIS -- After missing 69 games with a concussion, Twins outfielder Wilkin Ramirez has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list. He was activated prior to Mondays game against Cleveland at Target Field.
Ramirez last played May 25 and appeared in just 23 major league games this year prior to sustaining a concussion. The 27-year-old Ramirez batted .244 with five RBI and...
This is what happens when two struggling teams with subpar pitching lock horns.
And though it came in 5-4 a loss, Oswaldo Arcia took full advantage of the circumstances Saturday in Chicago.
With a line-drive smack over the right center field wall at U.S. Cellular Field, the rookie left fielder became the first Twins player in 49 years to homer in four straight contests against...

The Red Sox and Royals don’t have much of a rivalry. Don’t tell that to Alex Gordon or Billy Butler.
Gordon and Butler have both been extremely tough on Boston over the years, and after another successful series by the Royals sluggers, they’re really starting to pad their reputation as Red Sox killers.
Gordon led the charge Sunday as the Royals took down the Red Sox 4-3 in...
What an ugly day for the Twins. They struck out 25 times surrendered four home runs and went 1-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
Oh and swept a doubleheader for the first time since last September.
The normally power-challenged Twins launched seven home runs in two games six of them solo shots and one grand slam by Justin Morneau and rode the U.S. Cellular Field jet stream...
It’s kind of rare that I take to the blog about a player from another team getting DFA. The Royals have DFA C Brett Hayes. The Pirates should be interested. Depth at catcher is a problem since Michael McKenry went down. No one is talking much about it but this team is a Russell Martin…
When the Mets selected Mike Pelfrey with their ninth overall pick in the 2005 MLB draft, they were hoping the former Wichita State pitcher would soon become an ace at the top of their rotation for years to come. Fast forward to eight years later, he’s now a member of the Minnesota Twins. How did that happen? Let’s take a look.
The relationship between New York and Pelfrey got...
The Kansas City Royals haven't had too much trouble with any opponent lately. That doesn't figure to change during a visit from the NL-worst Miami Marlins.
Wade Davis will try to lead the Royals to their 17th win in 20 games with another strong outing in Monday night's series opener.
Kansas City (61-54) has boosted its chances of ending a 28-year playoff drought with...
