There had been rumors that a couple teams had a keen interest in free agent special teams ace and gunner Courtney Roby this offseason, so the news today that the Saints re-signed him is very welcome information. Per Kristian Garic:

This ensures the kick and punt coverage units will have their team captain back and the team can build off what came very close to being a net punt average NFL record. The Saints actually made the mistake once a couple years ago of cutting Roby and they were extremely fortunate to get him back a couple weeks later when they realized how instrumental he was to the team's success. I'm glad they didn't make the same mistake of viewing him as disposable this offseason.
