Although the Louisville football program is coming off of a disappointing loss, senior wide receiver Damian Copeland has had plenty to look forward to this week. He is headed home.
Copeland was born and raised in Bradenton, FL., which is less than an hour from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa where the University of South Florida plays their home games. Multiple friends and family members from the Bradenton area will be making their way to see Copeland in action.
His grandma has followed his collegiate career by watching Copeland play on television, but on Saturday, she’ll be in attendance for the first time since he’s been a Louisville Cardinal.
“The game is very special to me because I get a chance to play for all my loved ones and people who can’t travel to see me play,” Copeland tells Bradenton.com. “My grandma Marian has watched me a play a lot on television, but has never been to one of my games.”
