I stir with love T... Cleveland Browns QB Seneca Wallace is at Colossal Cupcakes in Cleveland right now baking his mother’s famous rum cake, in cup cake form — All proceeds go to his foundation for research and a cure for Multiple myeloma of which his mother passed away from. My source at the scene tells me,  “The girls who are in here are all want to ask him out, it’s hilarious.  He’s hanging out with his fans and baking cup cakes all for a good cause” Cupcakes are awesome to begin with, but add a little charity to them, and they’re flat out amazing. -TO D-Wade’s Bday Cake Braylon Edwards Awful Birthday Cake

Are you ready for another Browns QB controversy?

With the recent stories surrounding Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace, it’s appearing inevitable that we’ll have a heated QB controversy in Berea over the next few months. No trades appear imminent and so, for now, Mike Holmgren and company appear to be moving forward with the two veterans and rookie Brandon Weeden leading the race together for the signal-caller position. And get...

Getting to know your new Cleveland Browns: Ryan Miller

Who better to get the inside info on the Browns’ new draft class than the bloggers that followed them in college? We asked The Ralphie Report for some insight on Colorado OL Ryan Miller. David Gerhardt was happy to assist. How would you characterize his college career? He was a 4+ year starter who was a leader on offense for a group of guys that played through some tough times...

A Dan Coughlin guest post: Browns Still Hunting for a QB

It is our pleasure to introduce a guest post today by Cleveland’s own Dan Coughlin. Enjoy! I fell in love with Brandon Weeden late last season when I saw him against Baylor and later in the bowl game against Stanford. I wasn’t overly enamored with Stanford’s Andrew Luck. Everyone in the world was raving about Luck, but I preferred Baylor’s Robert Griffin III and Weeden, the...

Seneca Wallace open to mentoring Brandon Weeden

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Cleveland Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace made an appearance on WKRK FM/92.3 today and said that he’s not against mentoring young quarterbacks and that he’d be more than happy to help rookie Brandon Weeden. “I know my job going into my 10th season of being in this offense is to prepare Brandon Weeden to get him right...

Pat's First and 10 and Seneca Wallace speaks

The draft is all about risk and reward. Is the potential reward worth the risk of taking the guy? Is the juice worth the squeeze? You get the point.

Cleveland Browns third-day Draft analysis. Part II James-Michael Johnson

As teams wade into the later rounds during day three of the NFL Draft, their homework that they have done can pay big dividends. This is where the various college scouts and their expertise come in to play. The pace is quicker, as picks come in fast and furious, and if you aren’t at the top of your game, you may miss out on some special talent. The Cleveland Browns did...

NFL Draft: Vikings say Browns weren’t alone targeting Richardson

It has certainly been far less of a talking point for Browns fans, but the compensation used to move from four to three certainly could have been used elsewhere in the 2012 draft had it not been used to grab Trent Richardson. It is possible that those picks could have been used in the pursuit of Kendall Wright or one of the other receivers in a first round trade-up scenario. Alas...

Post-Draft Browns Ticket Sales Jump 119 Percent

With the dust following the 2012 NFL Draft having settled, Cleveland Browns tickets on StubHub — one of the world’s most popular secondary ticket markets — have seen sales improve by 119 percent, the second-largest jump in the National Football League. From CNBC’s Darren Rovell, the Browns have seen their sales improve dramatically following the additions of Alabama running...

Cleveland Browns third-day Draft analysis. Part III Ryan Miller

For part three of this five part series we will turn our attention to the fifth round. This round is the “meat” of the third-day draft sandwich. The 5th round particularly has been good for Cleveland traditionally having produced three Hall of Famers. QB Bob Waterfield (1944 Cleveland Rams),  DT Henry Jordan (1957 Browns), and CB Dick LaBeau (1959 Browns) were all selected by...

Eric Mangini says he regrets bringing the Spygate scandal to light

When Eric Mangini exposed the Patriots for videotaping opponents’ signals at the start of the 2007 season, he changed the culture of the NFL. Stealing signals — whether by use of camera or other means — is something that is believed to have been done by almost all teams at one point. Now, teams have to be extremely careful. By bringing the Spygate scandal to light, Mangini...

Colt McCoy’s time in Cleveland could come to an end due to father’s comments

Colt McCoy started 13 games in 2011, his second NFL season. The Browns were 4-9 in those games and McCoy completed 57% of his passes for 2,733 yards with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He suffered a concussion on this play against the Pittsburgh Steelers and would miss the final 3 games.   [...]

While We’re Waiting serves as the early morning gathering of WFNY-esque information for your viewing pleasure. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email at tips@waitingfornextyear.com. The NFL mourns the loss of another star- “For years at a time, Seau was the only thing about the Chargers worth looking at. He was there in ’90 and ’91, when the Chargers...

AFC North draft grades

Cleveland Browns: C I've said multiple times throughout this week that I just don't like the Browns first two picks, but if you missed it, I'll restate my argument. Trent Richardson is solid, but he wasn't worth a top 5 pick, and taking a quarterback is not what the Browns needed. They need someone to come in and help Colt McCoy succeed, not somebody to come in and...

Eric Mangini says he regrets turning the Patriots in for "Spygate"

After John Harbaugh made his comments today on the Patriots, saying their records and Super Bowl are tainted, former New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini stepped in on the discussion, saying that he regrets turning in New England for the "Spygate" scandal."If there is a decision I could take back it's easily that decision," Mangini told USA Today. "...
