Now that the start of the season has become a very real thing in sight with the lockout tentatively coming to an end Sunday, the Sharks have some very real injuries they need to deal with now.
And as it turns out, all of those hit by the injury bug are defenseman.
First there’s Brent Burns, who had had surgery in May to correct a sports hernia and groin injury that hobbled him for the latter half of last season. Burns has been rehabbing in the Bay Area, but his availability for the season opener later this month is unclear. From CSN’s Kevin Kurz:
“It happened last year. I played with it for the whole second half of the year. I played through it,” Burns said. “We didn’t really know what it was, found it, found out and tried to fix it.”
