FORT WORTH, Texas Carl Edwards could briefly relate with what he does for a career with members of the Fort Worth SWAT team Wednesday afternoon. "When I was taking that first step rappelling, taking that first step out the window," said Edwards, who rappelled outside a six-story building at the Fort Worth Police & Fire Training Center. "That's a lot like driving that car 205 mph down in the corner for the first time of the weekend in Texas. You're like 'Man I hope all this works out. I hope all the nuts and bolts are tight.'" Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fastenal Ford, got an up-close look at what members of the SWAT team do Wednesday. Edwards, who showed up at the event in a SWAT armored vehicle, started his afternoon by watching Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage shoot a variety of weapons on a gun range.
