MIAMI (AP) -- San Antonio is playing at Miami on Thursday night without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green, who were sent home by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to rest. Duncan, Parker and Green are starters. Ginobili is the team's top reserve. Popovich says the decision was made when he saw the schedule, and that it had nothing to do with facing the Heat. Thursday's game was the sixth road contest in nine nights for the Spurs, who won the previous five on the trip. Popovich has made similar moves in the past to rest his older players, such as Duncan. He says he added Green to the list on Thursday because he's logged a lot of minutes. Green has played a team-high 496 minutes in San Antonio's first 16 games.

Photo: Tim Duncan & Tony Parker Hold A Fake Joey Crawford At Gunpoint

Remember when Tony Parker dressed up as Nick Fury and Tim Duncan was The Punisher? Their Halloween photos were fun, but nothing racy…until now. The Spurs are no longer the most boring team in America…amid a $250,000 fine for sitting out against the Miami Heat, check out this photo of Parker and Duncan using their fake guns on a fellow party-goer dressed as referee, Joey Crawford:

Tim Duncan, Tony Parker Pose With Guns to Head of ‘Joey Crawford’ on Halloween (Photo)

A little mischief — if that’s what this is — could cause a lot of trouble. Spurs teammates Tim Duncan and Tony Parker used the recent Halloween holiday to show their feelings about NBA referee Joey Crawford, a much-criticized figure in the league’s officiating landscape. In a photo that surfaced in the last couple of days on Reddit, Duncan and Parker can be seen holding guns...

Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Fake Joey Crawford & Guns: What The F*** Is This?

Why are Tim Duncan and Tony Parker holding fake guns to the head of a fake Joey Crawford while a noose hangs in the background? We’ll assume this was from Halloween and is just now surfacing on the Internet. It seems Halloween-esque because this isn’t the time of year when most basketballers take photos of fake guns to a fake ref’s head, especially one that works their games...

Video: Ginobili walks the line

I don't know if San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is a Johnny Cash fan or not, but he took the rock legend's lyrics to heart during a highlight possession during Sunday's win against the Toronto Raptors. When trapped against the sideline on a fast break, Ginobili bounced the ball through DeMar DeRozan's legs, ran over the sideline, back inbounds and finished...

Spurs' Parker back on track

After an up and down start to the year, Tony Parker is back on track. TP has been on fire over the last week and although teammate Tim Duncan won Western Conference Player of the Week, Parker likely gave him some competition. Parker got things rolling last Wednesday with a 26 point, six assist performance against Boston. He followed that up with 33 and 10 against Indiana and...

David Stern threatens to sanction Spurs for sending Duncan, Parker and Ginobili home

The San Antonio Spurs finished with the best record in the Western Conference last season, while the Heat finished second in the Eastern Conference. The two teams were set to face off Thursday night in a much anticipated prime-time game. However, the Spurs organization and head coach Greg Popovich had other plans. According to the San Antonio Express, the Spurs sat their best four...

Contain Parker To Beat Spurs?

For many years, there was one name the opponents of the San Antonio Spurs had to worry about: Tim Duncan. He used to be the main focus of the opposing defense every possession. Now with Duncan being older, he's not the weapon the rest of the NBA should solely about on the team and Jacque Vaughn knows it. Vaughn praised Parker after the Spurs defeated his Orlando Magic on Wednesday...

NBA fines Spurs $250k

The NBA has fined the San Antonio Spurs $250,000 as a result of coach Gregg Popovich sending the teams stars home for a nationally televised game against the Miami Heat. Popovich sent Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green, on a commercial flight home instead of playing them against the Miami Heat.  Popovich wanted his starters to rest before Saturday's home...

Ginobili Surprised By Commotion

Everyone has their opinions on David Stern fining the San Antonio Spurs for sending home their stars, even one of their stars. Manu Ginobili typed up a great story on explaining on CanchaLlena.com how cautious Gregg Popovich has been with him and the team and that he's done this very action before with no consequences. Manu went to state that Pop had asked him if he wanted...

Spurs take down Magic, win fifth straight game

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Manu Ginobili had 20 points, Gary Neal scored 19 and the San Antonio Spurs earned their fifth straight win, racing past the Orlando Magic 110-89 on Wednesday night. Tim Duncan added 15 points in 27 minutes and Tony Parker chipped in 14 points and eight assists. The Spurs also posted their eighth consecutive victory on the road and have now beaten the Magic...

David Stern is quite ticked off at the Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are a very good basketball team. They also happen to quite long in the tooth for NBA standards. Head coach Gregg Popovich sent Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green back to Texas rather than have them play in tonight’s nationally televised game against the defending champion, Miami Heat. [...]

5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Heat

The San Antonio Spurs (13-3) will take their 5-game winning streak into Miami to face the Heat (10-3) for their final stop on their long road trip. For San Antonio, they are coming off a 110-89 road win over the Magic led by Manu Ginobili with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Along with Ginobili, Tim Duncan (15 points), Gary Neal (19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals), Tony...

Spurs 110, Magic 89

ORLANDO -- The San Antonio Spurs won their fifth consecutive game -- all on the road in the Eastern Conference -- by overpowering the Orlando Magic 110-89 Wednesday night. The Spurs, who will finish the road trip Thursday in Miami, moved in front midway in the first quarter and never were seriously challenged.
