Reigning NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. said not only has he been following the "Cinderella Story" of the NBA's Jeremy Lin, but that he relates to it.
"Watching him is impressive,'' Stenhouse said of the New York Knicks point guard who has led his team to seven straight wins since breaking into the lineup this month. "I've watched him play just about every game he's played and that's pretty cool to see.
"There's a guy that people overlooked and he got the opportunity and he's making the best of it. That's what we have to do as drivers. I got the opportunity with Roush Fenway Racing. We struggled a little bit, but (team owner) Jack (Roush) gave me almost like another opportunity and we stepped up as a race team and came home with the championship."
Stenhouse also likened Lin's story to that of Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, another pro athlete who just had a breakout season against the odds. Stenhouse will not only be racing in the Nationwide Series again this season, but he's also driving Roush Fenway's No. 6 Ford in the Daytona 500.
"I definitely (draw inspiration from them),'' Stenhouse said. "You just have to have that chance and that faith that you're there for the reasons that you can do it. You've got to believe in yourself and I think we're in that same position coming into the Daytona 500."

Yesterday, Chasing 23 contributor Lochpster wrote that Tyson Chandler was the backbone of the New York Knicks. If that’s the case, perhaps we can fill out the rest of the Knicks’ body parts:
Carmelo Anthony, the large intestine: the part of the body that completes the digestive process and whose primary output is waste, without returning anything really productive back to the...
Tim Tebow is working on his throwing motion and mechanics with an old friend, new UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, in Los Angeles.
Mazzone told ESPN he's been working with Tebow twice a day since last weekend and keeping in contact with Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Adam Gase.
Mazzone has worked with Tebow before. He helped him work on his fundamentals coming out...

In the two weeks that New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin has gone from a fringe NBA player to an international phenomenon and foundation for bad puns, the league’s first American-born player of Taiwanese descent has served as an inspiration to Asian Americans, Ivy Leaguers with hoop dreams, those who believe in the power of faith in a higher power and underdogs in general....
The Knicks and Raptors were about to make a trade with the NYK sending Jeremy Lin to TOR for Anthony Carter.
When the Knicks were struggling like crazy before "Linsanity" happen. They were searching for a legit point guard in the trade market.
Having Anthony Carter over Jeremy Lin would be a disaster to watch and thet would've worsen if they made that trade.
I went to my local watering hole yesterday after work to enjoy a few sophisticated beverages before I attended the Orlando Magic game, and the barkeep tuned the image box to SportsCenter, which devoted about 70% of the show to New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin. A few dozen Linsanity puns later and my enjoyment of the rise of this unexpected Knicks star was pretty much over. But the...
Jeremy Lin has ignited a nationwide craze over the past two weeks, as "Linsanity" has spread like wildfire, and the NBA front-office has certainly taken notice. Lin was invited by the league to take part in next weekend's Sprite slam-dunk competition during NBA All-Star weekend in Orlando, according to league sources. The second-year point guard is expected to assist...
Well for the first time since opening the season at 2-0 the New Orleans Hornets have come out victorious in their past two games to match that win streak. Monday night they stormed to a huge lead then were able to hold off the Utah Jazz late for an 86-80 win. They followed that with a close 92-89 thriller over the Milwaukee Bucks to improve to a mere 6-23 on the season.
The Yankees reliever, who is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery at the team's minor-league complex in Tampa, knows what Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin is going through.
We have seen two local sports teams pull stars out of the back of their roster in the past few months. First Victor Cruz for the New York Giants and more recently Jeremy Lin for the New York Knicks. Do the New York Jets have an opportunity to have such luck this season?
The real answer is who knows? You can never really see these things coming. Regardless of Cruz’s monster pre...
