To help get a better eye on the Texans before this week's game, I once again turned to Steph Stradley. Steph was voted the ultimate Texans fan in 2006 and when not practicing law in Houston writes the Texans Chick blog on the Houston Chronicle's website. You can also follow her on Twitter @StephStradley, where she says smart things about the Texans and mean things about Bud Adams. In addition to answering questions from me, she also sent me questions I answered over at Texans Chick; I'll add that link when those go up.
In an effort to keep things fresh and interesting, I tried not to duplicate things I asked her in our first exchange, so check that out for more information on the Texans. On with the new Q&A.
Total Titans: 458 yards and 37 points against the Jaguars. 525 yards and 31 points against the Lions. What the heck is going on with the Texans defense, especially a pass defense that's allowed 791 yards the past two games, that wasn't happening ...
BEST OF MAXIM
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was honored when his jersey and cleats were flown to Canton, Ohio to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Schaub was being honored for his 527 yard passing day (43 completions on 55 attempts) with 5 touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 18th. The monumental day landed Schaub with the second best passing day in NFL history tying...
The Texans won the last two weeks but, not by much. They need to figure out what's going on with their defense if they want to make a playoff run.
After an average Thanksgiving week of picks I'm sitting at 114-63. I need to step my game up as we sprint to the postseason.
Jacksonville at Buffalo - Chad Henne is proving that he can play QB in the NFL. I...
HOUSTON -- Suddenly the Houston Texans are broken. Not as a franchise, and not their season. Not metaphorically broken. Actually broken. Like with injuries.
Out for Sunday's game against Tennessee are cornerback Johnathan Joseph, linebacker Bradie James, linebacker Brooks Reed, right offensive tackle Derek Newton and guard Antoine Caldwell. But that's only the surface of...
The Houston Texans have ruled four starters out for Sunday’s
contest against the Tennessee Titans, including linebackers Bradie James and
Brooks Reed, cornerback Johnathan Joseph and offensive lineman Derek Newton.
While Joseph was out on Thanksgiving Day when the Texans
took on the Detroit Lions, the other starters all sustained their injuries
during that contest. James...
It’s not often we talk about other players not associated with the Houston Texans, but the name of Oakland Raiders inside linebacker Rolando McClain has come up. According to multiple sources, the former 8th overall pick (2010 NFL Draft) is set to “no longer” be a Raider.
These tweets came out about McClain and his recent comments.
Former Bama LB Rolando McClain no...
SONG THAT NEVER ENDS
Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham ripped Matt Schaub for his comments about Ndamukong Suh and defended Suh's hit.
The Houston Texans make the trip to Tennessee looking to improve on their 5 game winning streak against the AFC South rival Titans. The Texans are 10-1 and can lock in a playoff spot with a win against the 4-7 Titans, who are 2-3 at home this year. Safety Danieal Manning knows the importance of this game. When asked about it, he said, “It’s huge. It’s a long season...
Houston Texans defensive tackle J.J. Watt was fined $15,750 for striking Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford in the head/neck area in the fourth quarter of their Nov. 22 game, according to NFL.com. No penalty was called on the play. Otherwise, it would have put Detroit in field-goal range at the 30-yard line and in position to win the game. Houston eventually won 34-31 in OT.
(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By CHRIS DUNCAN AP Sports Writer The Houston Texans defense was a major hit, literally, in its first year under Wade Phillips, finishing the 2011 season with a franchise-record 44 sacks.
Statistically, this year's defense stacks up well with last year's unit, and defensive end J.J. Watt has emerged as one of the NFL's top pass rushers...
Tennessee middle linebacker Colin McCarthy will not play Sunday against the Houston Texans due to a concussion.
McCarthy has not practiced since suffering a concussion in last week's loss at Jacksonville. He has missed four games previously this season with a high right ankle sprain hurt in the season opener against New England. Tim Shaw will replace McCarthy in the base defense...
