New York Sports-Kings:
The New York Knicks suffered a tough loss Monday against the Houston Rockets, but they may be adding a key piece to their roster as soon as Friday. Amar’e Stoudemire, who has missed the first quarter of the season with a knee injury, may be able to come back as soon as Friday according to Newsday.
Stoudemire came in and rejuvenated the Knicks two years ago and was an early MVP candidate. But the addition of Carmelo Anthony put a major hit in his production and the pair didn’t have much success while on the court together. Since the Anthony acquisition Stoudemire has had a hard time staying healthy, resulting in chemistry issues between the pair.
The Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony on Monday and could have really used Stoudemire’s offensive production. The Knicks currently have the best record in the East, so it is unclear what Stoudemire’s role will be when he does get healthy. Mike Woodson hinted late last month that he could possibly bring Stoudemire off the bench to help out the bench scoring. It will be interesting to see how, and where, they use Stoudemire after such success early in the season.
