Nikola Vucevic was held out of Sundays game with elbow soreness, which hes been dealing with for the last few days. For now, it doesnt look like a concern, and he has a good shot to play Tuesday at San Antonio. It doesnt affect his fantasy value at the moment, and hes still one of the top options at center.
Steve Nash and Chris Kaman are both dealing with a similar illness, most likely resulting from the teams nine-day trip to China. Kaman missed Sundays practice, while Nash left early. They should both be fine for the season opener, and are still both potential late-round selections.
Harrison Barnes (foot), who has not seen any action since Oct. 8, will not play Wednesday after not practicing on Sunday. Barnes is expected to be Golden States sixth man, which slots him as a late-round pick. The foot issue isnt supposed to be serious, but it could translate to a rusty first few weeks.
Kevin Martin (Achilles) looked good in his return to the court on Sunday, racking ...

The Los Angeles Lakers have only two pre-season games remaining until opening night on October 29 and that means Mike D’Antoni will begin to work on his regular season rotations and give some of the core guys extended minutes.
One of the Lakers’ key players who probably won’t be available on Tuesday night is Chris Kaman who is currently suffering from a stomach virus and has...
When ESPN ranked Kobe Bryant as the 25th best player in the NBA earlier this week, everyone was waiting for his reaction.
Would he give an expletive-laden interview? Maybe a simple tweet saying “lol” would suffice?
Bryant has done neither so far, and it seemed he was just going to ignore the ranking altogether. That’s until Eric Pincus from the Los Angeles Times spotted the...
Mike D’Antoni was not well liked by Los Angeles Lakers fans from the beginning simply because it stopped the legendary zen-master from returning to his throne. Phil Jackson arguably would have been better suited to deal with Dwight Howard but D’Antoni was given the job and he didn’t do much to change the fans minds. The coach finished 40-32 and the team severely underperformed...
The fans in Shanghai didn’t get to see Kobe Bryant play in the pre-season game that they attended on Friday, but they got the next best thing: the opportunity to witness Bryant working out on the court as he continues to recover from Achilles surgery in April.
While his teammates were warming up for their game against the Golden State Warriors, Bryant was getting in a good workout...
In case you were holding out any hope that in 11 days Kobe Bryant would be suited up and ready to play in the season opener when the Lakers host the Los Angeles Clippers, you can keep on hoping.
Bryant stated “I can’t quite push all the way through yet, but it’s coming along fine. It feels all right,” about his Achilles. “It gets tight, so we just continue to work...
When Mike D'Antoni became the Lakers' coach last season, he wanted them to be a fast-paced team that scored around 110 points a game.
Then reality set in.
With their aging roster, the Lakers averaged 102.2 points.
"i was on drugs back then," D'Antoni said with a laugh after Monday's practice. "My knee was hurting, Vicodin was killing me."
As the regular season nears, the Lakers will have to make some final decisions on the roster before opening night.
"I think it's 48 hours before the first game and I do think you get to work on weekends. I think the NBA changed the rules," Coach Mike D'Antoni said. "I guess until Saturday, more or less."
The Lakers start the season Oct. 29 at home against...
There’s still around nine months left until Carmelo Anthony will officially become a free agent. but that doesn’t stop the forward from talking about his future.
According to the NY Daily News, Melo says he wants to stay in New York, though he doesn’t sound all that convincing:
The Melo-drama Part II is under way in the wake of Anthony confirming that he plans to opt out of...
How would you react if Kobe Bryant signed your jersey? It would be pretty cool, right?
It seems it was a dream come true for this Chinese fan when the Black Mamba signed his Lakers jersey last week. The fan was situated away from Kobe in the crowd, yet luckily for him, Bryant somehow got hold of the jersey – along with a Sharpie pen – and threw it back to the screaming man after...
On Friday night, the Los Angeles Clippers revealed their new look arena for this season.
As you’ve probably heard by now, the Clippers covered the Lakers’ championship banners and retired jerseys with banners featuring enormous images of their own players. This upset Lakers swingman Nick Young.
Young, who played for the Clippers in 2012, called the move “disrespectful” and...
The Lakers’ trip to China may have included an outing to the Great Wall and dinner with Yao Ming, but the purple and gold also put in some work while they were overseas.
In the video below, which was posted by the NBA, we get an inside look at the Lakers’ practice in Shanghai.
Aside from soundbites from Pau Gasol, Mike D’Antoni and Kobe Bryant, we also get to see the team working...
As you might already know, the LA Lakers and LA Clippers are the only two teams in the NBA that play at the same arena – Staples Center (for obvious reasons). Makes sense, right? When the Lakers and Clippers play each other, it is an un-official home game for both teams.
Nick Young, who played for the Clippers last season, plays for the Lakers this season. He is upset because the...
I understand Doc on this, but I also think if this was a few years ago that non of this would have been possible. The Clippers are the hot team, and the city, and the arena owners are running with it. Doc won't come out and say it, but it is a small jab at the Lakers. I don't mind him wanting to cover up those hiatus yellow, and purple eye sores.
Many Laker fans were appalled by the decision to hire head coach Mike D’Antoni last season. After walking into a difficult task of coaching a banged up team with fan base who were hoping for the return of Phil Jackson, he led the Lakers into the postseason where they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round.
D’Antoni comes into this season with a revamped roster...
The Lakers will tip-off their 2013 regular season in 10 days against the Clippers, and Mike D’Antoni says he’s unsure of when Kobe Bryant will even begin practicing.
“I have no idea,” said D’Antoni.
“He has a big desire to come back, but he understands there has to be a few steps he needs to take in order to come back,” Pau Gasol said. “I don’t think he’s taken...
