The Phoenix Suns are pushing hard for Luol Deng The Phoenix Suns have been pushing to land a marquee free agent to add to their young, exciting team. And, although the Suns landed Isaiah Thomas, they have failed to be a serious threat to land any of the big names thus far. However, that could all change if the Suns were to land Luol Deng. Even though Deng isn’t considered to be on the scale of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony or Chris Bosh, he is a very steady player that would immediately improve the young Suns’ roster.   ESPN sources say Phoenix has tried to force its way into the Luol Deng bidding tonight. Miami has been pressing all day for deal with Deng — Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 13, 2014 With a nucleus of Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe (assuming they match a potential deal), Miles Plumlee, Isaiah Thomas and the Morris brothers, Deng could thrust the Suns into the playoffs, despite playing in the competitive Western Conference. In addition, with a boatload of draft picks and cap space, the Suns could always be players in a trade down the line with disgruntled star players from other teams. The one factor here could be that Deng turns 30 next season and may want to play for a team that has a better chance at competing for a championship.   The post Surprised team trying to get into the Luol Deng bidding war appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
