The Atlanta Braves think that you probably haven’t heard the song of the summer, “Blurred Lines” enough so they’ve made their own rendition. Braves catcher Javy Lopez gets all snazzy in this parody called “Baselines.” Atlanta comedian Aaron Chewning wrote the song and plays the part of Robin Thicke. The diddy debuted before Monday night’s game at Turner Field. I can only expect the Pittsburgh Pirates to counter with a “Get Lucky” parody song. Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

When you have already clinched the division and there are still games to play things like this happen. The Atlanta Braves have a new video out, a parody of Robin Thicke’s hit song ‘Blurred Lines’ titled Baselines. In the video Aaron Chewning, a comedian from Atlanta, plays the role of Thicke. Of course the part that will catch the eyes of Brave fans is the awesome cameo of...

Evan Gattis foul popup splashes down in drink vendor's tray (Video)

A foul popup by Atlanta Braves left fielder Evan Gattis splashed down as it landed right in a drink vendor's tray during Tuesday night's game at Turner Field. Your browser does not support iframes. It happened in the bottom of the second inning as Gattis fouled the first pitch behind home plate. The drink vendor was a couple of rows back and couldn't see the ball...

Rangers tried to acquire Justin Upton from Braves in July

Buried in this article by Bob Nightengale of USA Today about Nelson Cruz's absence hurting the Rangers is this little nugget about how the Rangers tried to solve their outfield woes in July - by trying to trade for Braves left fielder Justin Upton. The Rangers, trying to solve that power void, tried to pull off a blockbuster deal for Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton before...

Video: Brian McCann not happy with suds in face

It's all fun and games until somebody gets beer in his eyes. The Atlanta Braves were celebrating their National League East title, and suds were flying, which is why Brian McCann, like others in the clubhouse, had a pair of goggles. But he pulled them off his eyes for an interview -- because to do otherwise just wouldn't be polite -- and then watch what happens: Video:...

Simmons, Braves beat Brewers in 9th inning, 3-2

Andrelton Simmons' single to the gap in right-center drove in Justin Upton with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Atlanta Braves a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night. Upton led off the ninth by hitting the first pitch from Donovan Hand (0-5) for a single to left. Freddie Freeman hit a fly ball to deep center for the first out before Evan Gattis, who had...

Carlos Gomez HR admiration ignites Braves-Brewers brawl (Video)

Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez ignited a bench clearing brawl with the Atlanta Braves in the first inning of Wednesday night's game at Turner Field when he took a bit too long to admire his home run before jogging the bases. Gomez hit the ball deep to left and watched it for a few seconds before one of the Braves (either catcher Brian McCann or first baseman...

Milwaukee's Marco Estrada impresses with shutout win in Atlanta

With the Atlanta Braves resting a handful of regulars, Marco Estrada carved through an Atlanta lineup appearing to be suffering from a division-clinching hangover. A day after the Braves clinched and celebrated the National League East title, Atlanta had just two hits against Estrada. The right-hander struck out six over seven scoreless innings in Milwaukee's 5-0 victory at...

The Atlanta Braves won the NL East over the weekend but are not about to take the rest of the season off. On Tuesday night shortstop Andrelton Simmons provided a walk-off single to give the Braves a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Simmons is hitting .247/.295/.397 with 17 home runs this season.

Foul ball makes splash-landing in Turner Field vendor's tray (VIDEO)

An Evan Gattis foul popup near home plate landed directly in an unsuspecting vendor's drink tray, triggering a huge splash-landing during Tuesday's Brewers-Braves game at Turner Field. Even Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy stopped and did a double-take when the ball sent beverages flying. The slightly soaked vendor refused a fan's offer of the wayward ball and instead...

Braves Win NL East Title

They are the Beasts of the East. During the fourth inning of Sunday’s game in Chicago, there was an explosion of hugs in the Atlanta Braves’ dugout. Yes, they were winning 2-1, but they had just found out that the Washington Nationals had lost to the Miami Marlins to clinch the NL East division title for the Braves. As I predicted in my 2013 Season Preview, the Braves appear...
