There is a new Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh as of Wednesday night as Ashley Roethlisberger, the wife of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger gave birth to Benjamin Roethlisberger Jr. Wednesday night.
Roethlisberger posted on the forum of his website that both baby and mother are doing fine and that Benjamin Jr. weighed in at 7 lbs., 1 oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long.
Roethlisberger will miss the Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns due to his dislocated rib and right shoulder injury suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks ago.

The Steelers quarterback announced on his website Thursday morning that his wife gave birth to the couple's son, Benjamin Jr., Wednesday evening.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is officially out for this Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Roethlisberger will miss his second straight game because of shoulder/rib injury. With backup Byron Leftwich out with two broken ribs, the Steelers will turn to veteran Charlie Batch to start at quarterback.
Ben Roethlisberger’s wife, Ashley, gave birth to the couple’s first kid at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday. If Roethlisberger’s kid were born two hours later, he totally would have been named something like Turkey or Gobble. Instead, it’s Ben Jr.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is making good progress as he continues to recover from rib and shoulder injuries and is still considered to be week-to-week at this point.
With the Steelers so depleted at the quarterback position, Roethlisberger might serve as the emergency quarterback on Sunday.

are welcoming their new son.
When Ben Roethlisberger went down with shoulder and rib injuries against the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh fans knew it was going to a tough road ahead. Now that backup Byron Leftwich is out with his own rib injury, the Steelers will turn to third string quarterback Charlie Batch as they face the Cleveland Browns in a key AFC North matchup. Here are my three bold predictions for Sunday...
After yesterday's Thanksgiving day debacles, it's safe to assume some coaches are on the proverbial hot seat. Congratulations Jason Garrett of the Dallas Cowboys, you fit that description.I wrote a few weeks ago that the Cowboys could still make the playoffs. They needed to win every "winnable" game and hope the NY Giants faltered down the stretch. The Cowboys now...
By now you probably already know the tale of Ben Roethlisberger and his dislodged rib.The starting quarterback suffered a rib injury that would leave him sitting the bench indefinitely during the Kansas City game in Week 10.Chances are if you know that story you also know about backup quarterback Byron Leftwich, and wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and their rib injuries that they...
With Ben Roethlisberger — and now Byron Leftwich — sidelined with rib and shoulder injuries, the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the hunt for more depth behind new starting quarterback Charlie Batch. To that end, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Steelers will host former Philadelphia Eagles backup Mike Kafka for workouts today, according to sources who…
After an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football, the Chicago Bears have a record of 7-3 and are in second place behind the Green Bay Packers via a tiebreaker. That should sound familiar to Bears fans as the team was also 7-3 last year. But a year ago this week, Quarterback Jay Cutler broke his thumb on his throwing hand trying to make a tackle against the San Diego Chargers. Without...

The past two Steelers seasons have been eerily similar, with both teams on the precipice of playing outstanding football, yet being a few breaks short of asserting themselves as elite squads.
Injuries last year to Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger, LaMarr Woodley, James Harrison, and Rashard Mendenhall, not to mention Willie Colon, made last year’s 12-4 record...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have seen their season turned on its head the past two weeks with a big loss to the Baltimore Ravens and even bigger losses at quarterback. With last week’s starter Byron Leftwich joining Ben Roethlisberger sidelined by injury, the Steelers will look to find a way to get it done against the Cleveland Browns Sunday with third-stringer Charlie...
Last week: 9 (-1)
I have no idea what Mike Tomlin was thinking leaving Byron Leftwich out there when he was clearly hurt. There’s no real difference in talent level between him and Charlie Batch; in fact, I thought Batch should have been the starter in the first place after Ben Roethlisberger was ruled out. He’s a better fit for their quick throw, timing based offense...
Cleveland cornerback Joe Haden is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, but beat writer Mary Kay Cabot thinks he's going to play.Fantasy Spin:Haden would likely get the toughest assignment, stopping Mike Wallace, but it's made easier by the absence of Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich.
