Around the Arc:
Not surprisingly, Kobe Bryant is doing well with his rehabilitation and recovery from recent MCL surgery. Dude is determined. I don't think i would want to play video games against him. Anyway, recent reports of of Los Angeles are saying that he may be ready for as action as soon as the preseason. This is great news for Laker fans and a testament to Kobe's toughness, but I find myself asking, what's the rush? The Lakers, by all accounts, aren't going to be very good next season, and coming back too early could jeopardize what is left of Bryant's NBA days. This can't be how he envisioned the end. After such an illustrious career, Kobe couldn't have imagined that the twilight of his career would be spent battling back from a serious injury to play for a Laker team that might not even make the playoffs. Kobe has long entertained and embraced the Jordan comparison, in many ways molding his own career arc after MJ's. Jordan went out on top, not counting thos...

AROUND THE WEB
The Los Angeles Lakers are nearly done assembling their roster for the 2013-2014 season and while they won’t be sending out a “super team”, Lakers fans should be encouraged and thankful for the players who will be suiting up in purple and gold.
With only the mini-mid level and minimum contracts available for use, the new signees could have been worse. Rather than sit and sulk...
Tweet Nick “Swaggy P”Young is one of the most enigmatic, charismatic and unpredictable players in the NBA. As of NBA Free Agency this summer, he’s also now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. The thing that is pretty commonly known about Swaggy P is that he likes to shoot and that’s about all he [...]
Metta World Peace talked about the Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant situation
Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace talked about the Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard situation, and had some interesting comments. Peace, who recently signed with the New York Knicks, believes that Kobe Bryant will play three more years now that Dwight has decided to take his talents to Houston...
In what has been an ongoing feud for quite some time Kobe Bryant’s mother Pamela, has cashed in on quite the score as she has sold several pieces of rare memorabilia. In the past Kobe has shown his distaste for the subject matter in a tweet, however personally I believe this is a travesty and no one family member should ever exploit the other. Maybe someday they will make up. A...
Indiana Pacers guard Paul George is spending the week in Las Vegas training at USA Basketball’s minicamp. He says every time he runs into a Los Angeles Lakers fan, they ask him if he’s coming to L.A. “ ’Paul, are you coming to L.A.? Let’s get you in L.A.’ That’s all I’ve been hearing
So this is going to be interesting.
Needless to say, Lakers' Nick Young has a reputation as a chucker. There is no spot from anywhere on the court that Nick won't shoot from and show just how much he doesn't know the words "passing the ball." Then there's Kobe Bryant. A player who throughout his NBA career is known for also taking many shot attempts...
Knicks star Carmelo Anthony said he has no interest in joining the Lakers, despite speculation that he could end up in Los Angeles after next season.
An Arizona appellate court says Los Angeles Lakers star Steve Nash may have to pay additional child support for his three children and that he and his ex-wife can't say bad things about each other through social media.
A Court of Appeals panel's ruling Tuesday says a judge must consider ordering Nash to pay more than the children's ''basic needs.''
Well, this is a pretty awkward interview. First, the LA Time Warner SportsNet reporter asks Whitecaps co-owner Steve Nash why he is at the LA Galaxy vs. Vancouver Whitecaps MLS game. Nash then adds that it is his friend’s bachelor party which is followed by said bachelor videobombing and f-bombing the televised interview.
For those of you wondering what the Los Angeles Lakers are doing with all those Dwight Howard jerseys they have stocked up in their Team LA store at the Staples Center, it appears that they are getting a heavy discount.
The authentic jerseys are going for about $20 bucks a piece (down from 85-125) and check out the huge pile below:

Remember, those reports that came out just days ago that signified the Los Angeles Lakers would snag both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony? First, it would be obvious any team with cap space would go over two of the big names in upcoming free agency, but Anthony – as expected – dispels any truth to [...]The post Carmelo Anthony: “Ummmmmm, I doubt it” on joining the Los...
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I think that there may be one form that is even better that applies to the sports world--trying to poach/steal/entice players from another team over to yours.
From what I've heard via the World Wide Web, the Los Angeles Lakers are not trying to do that with Indiana Pacers star Paul George (because there are rules...
Carmelo Anthony was asked by paparazzi in Hollywood about the possibility of signing with the Los Angeles Lakers next offseason.
Anthony has an early termination option on his contract with the New York Knicks in 2014 and was asked if he could see himself in a "purple and gold outfit."
"Uh, I doubt it," Anthony answered. "It's not a outfit, though."...
