If you know me you know that i'm a sports fan... and if I'm not with Mike, doing homework, at the beach or on FB... you'll find me here with all the other trash talking sports fans. You would also know that I GREATLY DISLIKE Baseball with a burning passion (turn it on and I'm knocked out or gone in 5 minutes)... but every once in a while something wonderful (i.e. someone else's screw up) catches my attention... and of course me (being the critic I am) has something to say about it. So here it goes...

We all remember being really little and our parents signing us up for softball or soccer… knowing damn well we can’t figure on which shoe goes on goes on which foot… and they expect us know which goal to kick the ball into or to actually hit a ball that flying towards us? Ah those where they days. Well it must have been déjà vu for Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brett Cecil because for a second there our young rookie forgot what the hell he was doing. At Thursday nights Red Sox vs. Blue Jays game he made a two- base error that even had the umpires stumped for a minute. If you watch the videos that are being streamed all over the internet you see Cecil go and retrieve a loose ball he wanted tossed out in the fourth inning and then chucks the still live ball into the Jays dugout as he walked back to the mound… but he forgot one important move… calling a time out maybe?!?! Well forgetting to call it cost him and Umps sent Red Sox Jason Bay, who had already walked to lead off, over to third base since the ball was thrown out of play. Here’s what our rookie had to say:

"It's pretty obvious I wasn't even thinking about timeout being called or anything," Cecil said. "I saw a scuff mark or some dirt on the ball and I wanted to throw it in; I wanted a new ball. I turned around and chucked it and that was that. The fact didn't even come to my mind that time hadn't been called or anything like that.
"I pretty much just got out of rhythm when I threw the ball into the dugout."

As we all know in life stuff happens, we pick ourselves up, shrug it off and move forward… better luck next time kid!
