Tennessee kicker Rob Bironas joined the NFL's 1,000-point club Sunday at Indianapolis.
Bironas came into the game needing just two points to become the second player in Titans history to achieve the feat. Former kicker Al Del Greco finished his career with 1,584 points.
Bironas became the 51st member of the club when he made his second extra point to give Tennessee a 14-12 lead with 7:29 left in the third quarter.
Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinatieri is the scoring leader among active players. He started the day with 1,952 points, ninth all-time, and tied a career high with four first-half field goals to move within 36 points of becoming the seventh member of the 2,000-point club.

After losing to the Indianapolis Colts for the second time in three weeks, the Tennessee Titans are slowly falling out of the AFC playoff hunt.
Prior to Sunday, the Titans were the frontrunner for the last AFC Wild Card spot and were still in contention for an AFC South division title. Falling to 5-7 and 0-4 within the division, the Tennessee Titans face two playoff contenders...
The Tennessee Titans keep making mistakes at crucial times, and now they've lost control of their playoff destiny and possibly their last chance at a winning record.
A team that has scored 122 points in the fourth quarter this season couldn't score late, and a defense that had been so stingy couldn't get off the field when it mattered most as the Titans lost 22-14 to...
Last week: 18 (+0)
The Titans haven’t really missed Jake Locker. He wasn’t the reason why they were winning and Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of the best backups in the NFL. They still have a very solid defense led by Jurrell Casey, Alterraun Verner, two Pro-Bowl caliber players, among other players who are playing well. I don’t think they’ll get the final playoff spot...
Former Rutgers and current Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt spoke to USA TODAY for a feature on racial profiling of NFL players. It's suffice to say, it sounds like the Bayonne native doesn't heart the Garden State anymore.Britt said "it's safe to say" racial profiling happens. "Because people are human, and it is not just policemen," he told...
Coach Mike Munchak says the NFL has told him officials erred on three plays in the Titans' 22-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, including one flag that should not have been thrown at all.
Munchak said Monday he doesn't like calling the league office each week and hearing what officials messed up in his games.
''Mistakes are going to happen,'' Munchak said...
Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker suffered a concussion in yesterday's 22-14 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, ESPN reports. Walker left the game early in the first quarter. He never returned and finished the game with one catch for five yards. After the game, Titans coach Mike Munchak didn't talk about the injury to Walker or to his teammate Collin Mooney. Mooney...
Titans running back Chris Johnson has alternated double- and single-digit fantasy point efforts over his last eight games.Fantasy Spin:Sunday at Indianapolis was one of his good days. Johnson was held to 69 rushing yards on 18 carries but he had 32 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches.
Pardon the lack of a game recap yesterday-life intervened after my return from Indianapolis.
According to the NFL's official player participation information, here's how the Titans lined in up in Sunday's loss to the Colts in Indianapolis:
Offense (75 total)
QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick 75
RB/FB: Chris Johnson 53, Shonn Greene 22, Collin Mooney 3
TE: Taylor Thompson...
Titans linebacker Moises Foku laid quite the cheap shot on a defenseless Colts receiver.
When Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck completed a pass to the Tennessee 35-yard line, time expired. It looked like the Colts would go into halftime with a 9-7 lead over the Titans. However, Titans linebacker Moise Fokou was flagged for a personal...
According to ESPN's John Clayton, Titans tight end Delanie Walker has been ruled out for Sunday's game due to a concussion.Fantasy Spin:Walker emerged as a decent fantasy option for tight-end needy owners over the previous three games, catching 19 of his 27 targets for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He'll finish with one catch for five yards Sunday.
Titans tight end Delanie Walker left the game against the Colts in the first quarter with concussion symptoms. His return is questionable.Fantasy Spin:Walker had 15 catches over the past two games and was a low-end fantasy option.
If familiarity does indeed breed contempt, then it is easy to surmise the Titans and Colts don't care much for each other.
And since the Colts have pretty much owned their AFC South rivals the past decade, including the come-from-behind win here two weeks ago, the Titans surely have plenty of disdain for the franchise that replaced them last decade as the division's flag...
The Tennessee Titans traveled to Indianapolis to take on the Colts this Sunday in a week 12 matchup of division rivals. This was another hard-hitting defensive struggle bewtween these two teams, which the came out on top. Here is what we learned from this game: 1. You can't stop him and barely can contain him: Andrew Luck looked pretty bad for most of the game. He was...
Well….so….last week….yeah. I don’t want to talk about that, so I won’t. Move on to the next game, right? The next game is against Tennessee, a team who two weeks ago Indy also had to come from behind to get a win.. This game is even more important - Indy has a two-game lead, and the tie breaker on second-placed Tennessee. This Sunday’s game has major implications for...
The Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans will face one another on Sunday in a match-up of two teams from the NFC South.
Entering Sunday’s contest the Titans (5-6) are trying to stay in the playoff hunt with backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm. The Colts (7-4) have dropped two of their last three and narrowly avoided a loss to the Titans two weeks ago...
