Mauritian referee Rajindraparsad Seechurn has been appointed to take charge of Ghana’s quarter-final clash with Cape Verde at Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The 42-year-old, who courted controversy during Ivory Coast’s 3-0 win over Tunisia at the ongoing tournament in South Africa, will handle the game in Port Elizabeth.
The Elephants should also have been awarded a penalty toward the end of the first half when Tunisia captain Khalil Chammam handled the ball in the 18-yard area but referee Rajindraparsad Seechurn of Mauritius waved away their appeals.
But the good news for Ghana is that Seechurn does not hesitate to issue yellow cards as he has so far issued 15 yellows in the five matches he has handled at the Africa Cup of Nations since 2010.
