Kevin Love is hurt again, but the Minnesota Timberwolves withstood his latest injury their last time out. Having him available against the Portland Trail Blazers hasn't mattered much. With Love's status unclear, the Timberwolves will try to beat their Northwest Division rivals for just the third time in over five years Saturday night. Love is nursing a sprained finger on his right hand, which forced him to exit in the third quarter of Thursday's 101-97 win at Denver. He still finished with 12 points and 17 rebounds in 24 minutes. He broke the same hand in October, missing the opening nine games of the season, and he's sat out a couple more last month with eye and thumb ailments. The injuries have contributed to Love's 35.2 percent shooting from the floor, nearly 10 percent less than his career average. "He said he could have played, but he couldn't shoot," coach Rick Adelman said Thursday. It's uncertain if Love's status has improved s...

Love leaves game early with finger injury

The season from hell continues for Kevin Love, but Thursday night didn't end quite as badly as did the power forward's last trip to Denver, when he suffered a concussion that ended his 2011-12 season.Love left Thursday's 101-97 win with a sprained finger on his right hand with 4:15 remaining in the third quarter. Wolves' Love battling slump with hard work

MINNEAPOLIS As the clock ticked to zero on the Timberwolves' 111-107 win over Phoenix on Sunday, Kevin Love walked to the sideline and enveloped Shawn Respert in a hug. This wasn't just an "oh, hey, we won, let's hug" sort of embrace. That's hardly Love's style. It was a pointed move after the power forward finished the night with 23 points and 18...

Timberwolves' Love out with broken hand

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, a two-time All-Star, has broken a bone in his shooting hand for the second time this season and will be out for several weeks, multiple media outlets reported. An MRI on Saturday afternoon revealed the fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his right hand. Love is scheduled to see Dr. Andy Weiland in New York this week to determine...

Injury will prove Love's value to Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS There are no simple mathematics to missing Kevin Love. On Saturday, the Timberwolves lost by five points, 102-97, to the Trail Blazers. Love is good for those five points, easy. He's good for an average of 18 this season, 30 or more when he's on. But that comes at the expense, perhaps, of Derrick Williams' 18 fourth-quarter points Saturday, of Dante Cunningham...

DENVER (AP) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has left Minnesota's game against the Denver Nuggets after spraining a finger on his right hand in the third quarter. MINNEAPOLIS The Timberwolves will be without Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio for Saturday night's game against the Trail Blazers.
