The Minnesota Twins have given Bill Smith another job within the organization after he was fired as general manager last month.Team president Dave St. Peter announced Friday that Smith has been hired as an executive assistant.Smith's responsibilities will include working with the club's minor-league affiliates, helping upgrade the team's spring-training facilities and analyzing the team's international talent development.Smith was fired after the Twins went 63-99 in 2011, their worst showing since 1982.
