Two is enough for this Giants losing streak

THE GAME: Giants (5-2) at the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2), Fox, 1 p.m. WHAT IT MEANS: It’s a huge swing game in the early race in the NFC East. The winner gets control of the division (no offense to the Cowboys, who are right there, too). The loser could drop all the way to third place. And in the Giants’ case, a loss would be their third straight and they could be in for an ugly week in New York, especially if the World Series is over. MATCHUP TO WATCH: WR Steve Smith vs. CB Asante Samuel. It’s put up or shut up time for Smith, the ultra-confident No. 1 receiver who took shots at the Eagles secondary earlier this week when he said “We’re not going to be surprised if we’re wide open down the field on a play.” Given the way the Eagles blitz, he’s probably right. But when he is, he better catch the ball and Eli Manning better have time to make a good throw, otherwise there’s going to be a lot of laughing over on the EaglesR...
