Two of Temple’s football games have been moved to ESPN, the school announced Wednesday.

The games at Ohio (November 2nd) and home for Miami (OH) (November 9th) will be televised on ESPN, they were previously scheduled to be aired on ESPN2.

With these two games this is now the most nationally televised games in school history. The Owls now have ten games televised, which ties the record set in 2000, and eight nationally is the most in program history.

The ESPN-televised game between Temple and Penn State on Sept. 17 had a 1.6 national rating, which translates into 1,610,190 households and 1,952,851 viewers – a Temple football record. In comparison, Pitt at Iowa, televised by ESPN2, garnered a 0.8 rating, while West Virginia at Maryland on ESPNU had a 0.7 rating.
 

Temple Offering Ticket Discounts
The Temple Owls have four home games left at Lincoln Financial Field this season and the team is offering a two-pack discount.

For $24, fans can buy tickets to two of the four remaining home games, a $12 savings. The games are the Homecoming game, against rival Buffalo (Oct.15, presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery), Miami (Ohio) (Nov.9), Army (Nov.19) and Kent State (Nov. 26).

The Army game is also the Parent-Child Touchdown Toss Day at the Linc.

The Owls are next in action this Saturday against rival Buffalo for the annual Homecoming game sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.The 2011 Temple Hall of fame inductions will be made at halftime.
