Fans of the Temple Run video game will be happy to know that there is a cool new character in Temple Run 2 available for a limited time.
Sprinter Usain Bolt, a six-time Olympic gold medalist who has established himself as the fastest person in the world, has been added to the game as a playable character. Players can download Bolt as a character in the Android/Apple game for 99 cents.
According to the LA Times, this is the first time game developer Imangi Studios added a character based on someone in real life. Bolt appears in his Jamaican sprinting outfit, and his character has a special power that allows him to collect coins while running in boost mode.
“It’s an honor to be a part of such an established game,” Bolt said in an email to The Times. “Many of my fans have told me that I should be a playable character in Temple Run, so when this opportunity was put before me, I had to say YES!”
Bolt told Pocket Gamer that he has been playing Temple Run since it came out in 2011 and really enjoys the game.
