Vanderbilt head football coach has interesting criteria when considering potential hires for his staff. I’m sure that coaching experience plays a role as does attitude and work ethic. But Franklin he told a Nashville radio station that coaches shouldn’t apply if they don’t have a hot wife.
Franklin spoke with Clay Travis of 104.5 The Zone and fired off this gem of a quote:
“I’ve been saying it for a long time, I will not hire an assistant until I see his wife. If she looks the part and she’s a D1 recruit, then you got a chance to get hired. That’s part of the deal. There’s a very strong correlation between having the confidence, going up and talking to a women, and being quick on your feet and having some personality and confidence and being articulate and confident, than it is walking into a high school and recruiting a kid and selling him.”
From what I’m gathering, the second-year coach is basically saying that with your resume, cover letter and references, you better include a picture of your wife…in a bikini. Show off your D-1 talent.
What’s the line from the Bob Marley song? No woman, no job?
