Henrik Zetterberg’s late goal secured the Detroit Red Wings a point in Carolina on Friday night. Newcomer Stephen Weiss made sure the Wings added a second point in OT. Zetterberg scored in the closing seconds, after a frantic few seconds around Carolina goalie Cam Ward. Weiss followed by scoring his first Red Wings goal to put the Hurricanes away, 3-2, with less than two minutes left in OT. Johan Franzen helped set up Weiss’ winner, driving hard to the net and popping the puck loose for Weiss to bang home.
