Green hat or not, the Red Wings are streaking in a great way right now. The Wings beat the St. Louis Blues 3-1 to stay in first place in the Central Division, Western Conference, and entire NHL (yes, all in one night). The win was their 7th straight overall and 17th straight at home, the latter of which is a franchise record.
The Wings started off sluggish, but Brad Stuart sent Alex Pietrangelo through the quad and into the gymnasium with a big hit towards the end of the first period (which Chris Stewart didn't seem to appreciate).
The end result of this scrap was a Red Wings powerplay goal in the early 2nd period, and the Wings never looked back.
Standings? Standings.
A first round series with Colorado, followed by the winner of Chicago-St. Louis? I think the Wings would take that any day of the week.

Wings outfight Blues, earn 17th straight home win
DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings had to fight to extend their franchise record home winning streak to 17 games. Literally.
But in the process of their 3-1 victory, they showed their Central Division rival, the St. Louis Blues (29-13-6), that you have to be a little choosy as to when you fight.

Very, very belatedly: good news on two fronts regarding Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg’s accidental hit on Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Nikita Nikitin. There are two things I hate in this world. Blackhawks "fans" and Blues "fans" both for the simple fact that they know absolutely nothing about the sport they claim to be real fans of. Yet they spew unintelligible nonsense about the team and city I love.Puck drops at 7:30pm on NBCSN. Eddie...
Same Team, Same Fans, Same Result
Courtesy of WIIM, let’s take a gander at what this bitter little ***** had to say yesterday.
I really don’t know why I even bother to waste energy on this report for tonight’s opponent, the Detroit Red Wings. Nothing ever changes with these guys . . . they don’t fight, even when they really should, and while you can sugarcoat it with as hard a candy shell as you can find...
