Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko has cleared a battery of post-concussion tests and will resume physical activity on Tuesday. Konerko did not accompany the AL Central leaders to Toronto for a series that opened Monday night. Konerko was placed on the 7-day disabled list last Friday, three days after being accidentally elbowed in the head by Kansas City's Jarrod Dyson during a close play. Manager Robin Ventura said Konerko checked out fine after a thorough concussion-related exam at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Ventura said Konerko will likely ride an exercise bike and play catch Tuesday. If he's OK, he would move on to hitting, running and fielding grounders. Konerko is batting .316 with 18 homers and 54 RBIs. He can return Aug. 17 at Kansas City.

Konerko gets cleared to resume physical activity

The Chicago White Sox's lineup just doesn't look the same when the team captain is out of it. That was evident once again Monday night, as Chicago struggled to score runs in the 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. That meant Adam Dunn carrying the load with two solo homers, but having to play first base with Paul Konerko out. That meant catcher A.J. Pierzynski...

Adam Dunn Crushes Monster 469-Foot Home Run Off of His Own Face on Scoreboard (Video)

Adam Dunn's resurgent season continued Monday night in a gargantuan way. The Chicago White Sox slugger's most important home run in what would end up being a loss to the Toronto Blue Jays was his game-tying shot in the ninth inning. The homer that everyone should be talking about, though, came earlier in the game. Dunn clobbered a round-tripper in the fourth inning that went...

A.J. Pierzynski scores on grounder from first base as A's forget to cover bases (Video)

Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski scored on a groundout from first base after the Oakland A's infield left some bases unconvered during the seventh inning of Sunday's MLB game at U.S. Cellular Field. Your browser does not support iframes. With Pierzynski on first, White Sox batter Alexei Ramirez hit a routine grounder to A's shortstop Cliff Pennington. ...

White Sox lefty Sale gets 14th victory

CHICAGO - Lanky left-hander Chris Sale continued his quest toward his first 20-win season, striking out 11 and scattered six hits as the Chicago White Sox topped the visiting Oakland A's 7-3 on Sunday. In his third outing of 10 or more strikeouts this season, Sale (14-3) once again was nothing short of outstanding, giving up just two solo home runs while not allowing a walk...

RotoWire MLB Depth Chart Analysis

Rather than discuss the merits of the White Sox's temporary carousel at designated hitter (A.J. Pierzynski and Dayan Viciedo should see the bulk of the time there with Adam Dunn subbing at first), I thought it might be more interesting/useful to take a more macro look at the rest of the season. More specifically, which parks have been the best and worst for hitters of both hands...

White Sox-Blue Jays Preview

The Chicago White Sox have lost 15 of their last 18 games at Rogers Centre. The AL Central leaders hope to start reversing those woes Monday night in the opener of a four-game set against the injury-plagued Toronto Blue Jays. Chicago (62-51) has struggled in recent years in Toronto, where it has not captured a series since 2006. Dating to that season, the White Sox's .199 batting...

Blue Jays 3, White Sox 2(11)

David Cooper singled home the winning run in the 11th inning as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 3-2 on Monday night. Rajai Davis popped out to open the 11th before left-hander Leyson Septimo came on to replace Jesse Crain. After Septimo (0-2) walked Johnson on four pitches, White Sox manager Robin Ventura brought in Nate Jones to face Edwin Encarnacion, whose single...
