Who is Jason Heyward

The Atlanta Braves brand new outfielder Jason Heyward is looking at a promising career. How did he make this journey that everyone as taken to the big show. Jason Adenolith Heyward was born on August 9th, 1989 in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Heyward was an AFLAC All-American prep first baseman for Henry County High School in his hometown of McDonough, Georiga. He was selected in the first round 14th overall by the Atlanta Braves in the 2007 draft. He was 17 when he started his journey. His first team he played fot in the Braves farm system was the GCL Braves. He moved up to the Danville Braves of the Appalachian League, hitting a combined .302 batting average. In 2008 he hit a combined .316 with 11 home runs and 52 RBI in 127 games for Class-A Rome. Heyward started 2009 at Myrtle Beach, gaining successive promotions to Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. In 99 game appearances, he was a .323 hitter with 17 homers and 10 steals, including high numbers in OBP(.408), SLG (.555) and OPS (.963), while scoring 69 runs and driving in 63 RBI. In September 2009, Heyward was named the Minor League Player of the Year both by Baseball Anerica and USA Today. He hit two homeruns in spring trainning that are uncommon. One of them he hit a Coca-Cola truck and the other one hit the Atlanta Braves Gm's sunroof. Heyward hit a 3-run home run with the first swing of his first at bat in the majors against the Chicago Cubs off Carlos Zambrano on April 5, 2010. It traveled 476 ft. Jason Heyward's speed off the bat for his HR was 120.9 MPH. Jason Heyward became the fifth player in Braves history to hit a home run in his first Major League at bat, the first to do so since Jordan Schafer, who did it just the season before, also on Opening Day. He wears number 22 and he looks like he is going to have a great rookie year and one to remember.
