Of course you guys are about to kill us over that headline, but let’s focus on what is considered a great Super Bowl seat for a guy with 1.6mm Twitter followers. If you are Bill Simmons, the guy who put Boston sports fandome on the map, are you happy to find your Super Bowl seat next to a Yankees fan? Are you happy to trudge through 14 people to go take a leak? Are you inconvenienced by seats not 50-yard-line? We think so.

But Bill didn’t ***** publicly. His Twitter feed on Sunday didn’t include shots at the black guy wearing a Yankees hat, or having to stand to see over the Giants fans during the 4th quarter.

But in his column he did.

One of my good buddies happens to be a Giants fan. We avoided each other all weekend. It was for the best. There was just too much at stake. So when Horowitz and I found our seats in Section 116 last night, guess who was sitting two rows behind us? That’s right, Hirschy and his brother. Why was this a big deal? Hirschy sat two rows behind me for Game 6 and Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals — you know, yet another one of the worst sports experiences of my life. So much for phenomenally good omens. Do I have to spend the rest of my life making sure Hirschy isn’t sitting two rows behind me for massively important Boston sporting events? Actually, yes.

Of course Simmons doesn’t explain how his ticket broker at ESPN or StubHub sat him in a predominantly Giants section. Whatever the case, Sports Illustrated has this 1,700 pixel panoramic that documented it all for us to enjoy.
